I'm looking to see if anybody know the actual price, or even a good estimate, of what it would cost all-in for cataract surgery at Biblica or one of the other good private hospitals. My mother-in-law needs it and she's on the list with CAJA but it could be tomorrow or 5 years from now. My wife and I may just pay it at a private hospital.

I have cataracts but not too bad now. Will do the surgery one days soon.

I have been to two private doctors here and have quotes of about $1,600 to $2,000 USD per eye - that is pretty much “soup to nuts”. The price also depends on which lens one wants. These prices are for the medium priced lens.

Both have private clinics they use for the procedure.

Send me a PM and I’ll give you their names. Both are very good and located in the Escazu area.
