Wondering if CR still gives out the immigration and customs paper forms on the flight before landing or have they paperless electronic method. Cheers

They have done away with them completely.

Interesting you should ask this. As someone said, they stopped doing this years ago but during my trip last month, they handed them out on the flight to some people. I threw it away. I hadn't seen any airline do that in years although I almost exclusively fly Delta and that was my first time flying United to CR.

Is there a online electronic form that replaced the paper forms? Thanks

They ask the questions when you go through immigration when you arrive.

The immigration officer will typically ask a couple questions. The questions I sometimes get asked are “where are you staying?” Sometimes they want proof of this reservation. I always have a paper copy of my hotel reservation with me. Usually just a printout of an email. Don’t be the guy who is trying to find the email from the hotel on their phone. You might not be getting cell phone reception in the basement of the airport terminal.

The other question I sometimes get because I often fly different airlines arrival and departure is proof of my ticket out of CR. When they scan your passport it brings up airline information, if you are leaving on the same reservation, no questions. Again, I have a paper copy of my airline reservations ready.

It’s not a bad idea to have paper backup copies of those documents in any case.

He is absolutely right. I was that guy who tried to fumble through his e-mail for his hotel reservation with no data working outside the US. But on my last trip, I preloaded the e-mail on my phone with the plane Wi-Fi with no problems. Though a better idea is to just have a printed paper copy.

So yeah, paper copies.
