Wondering what the scene is like during Easter, do the girls go home? or is it business as usual?
Also wondering about pensions in San jose during this time-frame as well.

Is this a good time to go to CR?

Any advice would be appriciatied.

Thx.

Always heard that Semana Santo was a bad week to go San Jose. Don't know about Jaco but I believe families go there for vacation during this time.

I have been there during Easter and Christmas. There were less girls but also less guys. I had the upper had due to less guys and no wait at the bars for a drink. If you are super picky it might not be for you. I am happy with a cheap 7 or 8 that is eager to please. Since these girls are horrible money managers, I suspect there are always girls working.

Jaco will definitely be more of a challenge than San Jose. Many families will go to the beach for the holiday. We mostly don’t think this way in the US, but in a conservative Catholic country Semana Santa (Holy Week) is one of the most important holidays of the year to be with family. If you look at hotel rates in Jaco, most will have a surcharge for Easter week due to heavy demand from Tico families.

Many of the chicas are from San Jose, working a few hours in SJ to help pay for holiday expenses only means a few hours away from family. Working Jaco means staying overnight there. Higher cost for them to stay, less gringos to target and substantial time away from family during an important holiday.

If you are in CR, San Jose is a better choice than Jaco

Years ago on one of my earlier of many trips I made the mistake of not paying attention to the dates on a 1 week trip I booked. That’s when I learned to always pay attention and never go to CR during Easter week. It was horrible.
