Since there was not a single salutation for christmas, I thought that at least I would
offer my best thoughts for 2023. This board has been dismal for quite some time.
The great posters from years past have either lost interest or moved on.
Lets hope this year shows some improvment. With over 40,000 registered users
one would think we could see more than one or two posts daily. Have a happy

Hard to believe no other comments but for what it’s worth, I agree and have a happy one too.

Weird how the board went from being so vibrant, to so not vibrant. I have still gotten a lot of good information off of it as I generally get things to consider or check out when I ask a question.

And to be fair to CRT, it's all boards. I remember there used to be a Residents of Costa Rica Forum that was just a daily fountain of practical information, and when I checked it out this summer after not visiting for years there hadn't been a post on it for a month. When CRT was in its prime profile-based social media wasn't a thing.

All that said, the death rattle of the board only seems to reflect the end of the scene. Speaking as someone who recently made the move here, I'm glad I did. Of course it's a YMMV kind of thing, but I couldn't be happier with how things are going for me. Yes different than twenty years ago, but still full of possibilities.

So cheers to possibilities and Happy New Year to all my monger friends and frenemies...

This board used to be younger, thinner, handsomer, funnier, smarter, and able to Phuck three times a day. Life is what you make it, squeeze it for every drop of pleasure. Happy New Year, you grumbling old bastards.

Happy New Year.

I was a regular down there in my mid 40’s. 10 - 15 years ago haha. Been remarried for 5 years. Yeah it sort of sucks. So does getting old. My liver is suffering too. To many fun weekends. So I just chill like most old people.

I read the board once in awhile. Jaco sounds like it’s doing fine. Might make it sown there. Never know.

"It's worth pointing out that handsome is different from your other -some words, because, unlike those other three examples, handsome has nothing to do the hands. It could be that, because we don't say words like "fearsomer" or "tiresomer", more handsome sounds normaller than handsomer."

See? "More handsome" sounds "normaller"...

We're all not only handsomer and more debonair with our cargo shorts, but also much more stylisher...

This topic started out as a sincere Happy New Year greeting. It didn’t take long for a couple of the regular comedians in their own minds to turn it into a joke. That seems to be the norm here and why CRT has declined into a ghost town. You guys can continue laughing at your own jokes and soon you will be the only posters. Soon is already here.
