It was alive and well a few nights ago......30 women and maybe 5 guys in the place.

Nice. We're the hustlers outside too or did DR keep them at bay?

I'll be in town next week for work, but will be sneaking away most nights to visit the del rey. Last time I was there (~2017) there were several places nearby and even one right across the street that you could grab a room for 30 min/an hour. Are these still operating?

The short time hotel across from the DR appears to be open. I have no idea about the cleanliness, rates, etc. La Oficina is a short uber ride from the rey and it is pretty decent.

Has the casino reopened yet and if so is the Tute table still there? Went to colonial and Taromina last month neither offered 5 card Tute anymore.

They have moved some new slots into the lower bar area and they are powered up but mot available for use yet. Construction continues in the main casino area where the table games were.

Someone told me that they have started poker again at the Taormina in the room they were using for the overflow bar.

A taormino casino update. I walked through it last night and saw 3 tables with the word Tute on them and people were playing. I couldn't tell you if they were playing Tute or not but the dealing was similar to Blackjack.

Looks like masks still required (loosely enforced) in the Casino and lobby but not the Sports Bar.

Tables in the Taormina labeled "Tute"? Some jokes just write themselves...

Thanks Yeah Taromina has games called Tute but it is not the classic 5 card carribean stud poker game. It is a 2 or 3 card game with different everything. Thanks again for the updates.

Very eloquent. Netgems. You summed up our experience there and Key Largo too.
