Just in time for the Super Bowl. I'm making a low key trip to the DR. GF will never know about this fishing trip.

Currently the Del Rey Is open, the Blue Marlin bar Is open and you can get a room for the night.

However, the casino is Not open and the Key Largo / Del Mar Restaurant is Not open.

The hotel website has been updated, and new there are new rates for two types of rooms. There are some glitches on the website. The toll free telephone number posted on the web site does not work.

https://hoteldelrey.com/

However, you can call internationally +506 or locally from Costa Rica 2257-7800. This number is NOT currently active on WhatsApp.

I called and spoke to Mario at the front desk. He said they hope to have the casino open within 2 weeks. However, everyone is welcome to visit the Blue Marlin or get a room for the night.

They didn’t update the room descriptions. They are still in Lorem Ipsum. The CMS is a mess at https://hoteldelrey.com/rooms/

I don't remember those high prices for rooms except for the $119 one. Anyone know who the new owners are?

Those must be the prices for the 6th floor penthouses with balconies.
One of the bartenders Whatsapped me that the prices are $90 for a standard room and $100 for a deluxe.

I looked but there is no colones conversion for that. All that they said was "Render unto Caesar what is Caesars."
Seriously it would be interesting to know if they kept the old $12 chica elevator fee.

Posts on ISG(SanJose) reference a $20 chica fee.

Verified on their website. My source tells me the cheapest room rate is $119 plus tax; chica fee is $20.

I arrive at the Taormina on 2/10, so I'll take a walk over there next weekend for a closer look. I doubt I'll go back to the HDR for a while. I'm more than happy with the Taormina at this point."
