The Health Pass is an existing requirement to enter Costa Rica. You can upload a photo on to get your Health Pass on the existing site, this allows you to enter without having COVID insurance. Once you do this, there is no need to carry your vaccination card, either the card or a picture. The Vaccine Pass is a proposed, future requirement to enter businesses in Costa Rica. The Vaccine Pass is currently suspended until the CR courts clarify it. That could change tomorrow, or never. Since the Vaccine Pass requirement is currently suspended, everything about it is speculation. Given that I speculate that a photo would be acceptable rather than the physical document. BUT, if they merge the Health Pass with the Vaccine Pass, you may only need to show the single pass at Immigration, Hotels, Bars and Restaurants. I also speculate that this is where things end up, but later after May. (no vaccination card after you get the pass) CR is hungry for tourist dollars. Get Vaccinated, Come down, Party. |

I'm confused. I thought all one had to do was show proof of vaccination, which I have. Do you mean theres something more? What site do I find the Health Pass?? |

You have to fill it out before you fly into Costa Rica. And you have to show it at the airport to get into the country. Otherwise you don't need it. The discussion here is about the next steps, when and if they happen. |

I already had a flight booked for Thanksgiving and just by coincidence I was leaving December 1st. This pureblood would like to extend this trip until 12/5 and also come back for Christmas. |
