Perhaps before we discuss a method by which we can reverse this trend on the behalf of the BM chicas to charge "cien por hora" we should survey the market place and try and determine just what percentage of the BM's business is coming from within our CRT brotherhood. A Poll to attempt to ascertain our impact follows. Disclaimer: I have not as yet made my maiden voyage to the "magic kingdom" so I can't speak from any first hand experience. Your voting may help us resolve the current situation. Ye Old Man |

With all due respect to YOM and those who selected anything over 20%, ARE YOU NUTS? Perhaps it is just wishful thinking. Have any of you ever asked around the BM for CRTers at 5PM, a time when a higher percentages CRTers are likely to be around for our unofficial happy hour. You're much more likely to get blank stares or "What's CRT?", than many people who have even heard of it. CRTers are more likely to know the score and refuse to pay cien for just an hour or less, which shifts the percentages, in dollar terms if nothing else, against us. We are also increasingly likely to just take more of our business to other places with more reasonable pricing. If you asked this question about ZB, those higher percentages would have been more reasonable options. Many of the CRT vets, especially regular visitors and SJ residents, have moved on or tired of the BM for anything much more than window shopping or hanging with friends. VB still shops there but not as much as before since he has regulars that come to his house. RBC and others seek out places where newbies have not yet spoiled the market. And still many others more, like TMan, have moved on to non-DR or even non-pro novias. It would be nice if we represented those higher percentages, meaning we had more market clout, but I just don't think it's the case. In another thread, someone asked about the relative gringo-chica ratios during different times of the year. I said it's not as variable as one would think since supply shifts quite a bit to meet the demand (particularly with the non-tica chicas). For the most part, more gringos are there during the high season but so are more chicas. But I also think that is a little misleading. If there are times when the percentage of CRTers does creep up, it is during the off-season. First timers tend to come down more during their winter vacation. Many veteran CRTers have learned to take advantage of the smaller crowds and lower prices by coming down in the "off-season". |

I think Prolijo hit the nail right on the head. Out of less than 2500 registered board members, I would suspect this isn't even close to 1% of the total number of guys that go to Costa Rica for P4P. My first trip was in the month of May, second was in September, third December/January, and fourth was again in January. Based only on those limited trips, I have noticed a big difference in the attitude between low and high season of the girls outside of the MPs, they seem to be more in a rush, and I hate to say this, but several of them gave me flashbacks to women here in the states... ![]() with that attitude. I do believe that the months between May and perhaps November would be the best time for me to visit Costa Rica. I will find out later on this year how November is. But still being a newbie, what the hell do I know... ![]() ShyOne |

I checked less than 20 % as that is true 95 % of the time.We could be in the 20% range on rare occassions. On a weekend in high season it can be wall to wall people. It is possible talking to people and spreading the word could make a small difference.I mainly go to visit and meet guys form the board and move on to outher venues I prefer later in the evening.I do on occassion take someone out in the morning like on Sunday when options are limited for daytime action and have good luck negotiating then |

A better poll question might be what percentage of Gringos get discounts just by flashing a VIP card? ![]() |
