I’ll be down there next week and was going to post a “current situation?” thread. Following this if anyone will give a current update on curfew and the situation in general in the Gulch. |

Saw this morning that CDC just updated C.R. along with a number of other countries to Level 4 (avoid travel even if fully vaccinated). I guess CR was level 3 just prior? Don't know if this will shut things down again or not... https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-nc ... tices.html |

But stats from CR are not looking great and things like hospitalizations and growth in new cases have driven changes in their rules and restrictions in the past. |

Just looked at some of the numbers. If current vaccination rates continue they are doing a bit over 10 percent of the population per month. And they are at around 35% now. So in around 3 months the vaccinations should be lowering new cases and serious cases significantly. That would be my guess as far as governing my own plans. Not suggesting anything for anyone else. Overall their new cases per day and serious outcomes have been steady to falling slightly as of the end of July and early August. But as the delta variant becomes the one spreading most rapidly cases won't be going away for a while. |

I just rescheduled my September trip to the beginning of March. I just think things are going to get much worse down there before they get better. And I don't have the kind of job that will be too forgiving if I was to end up having to spend an extra two weeks. |

Can anyone is who there now talk about what the current curfew is, and if there are plans to update it? What is the sentiment in CR, are people getting more worried about covid and delta variant, or is there a belief that it will cool down soon? |

Was in SJO July 14-21, had a 10th floor Air BNB in Sabana Sur. It was so strange sitting on the balcony with a great view for miles and seeing nothing moving. The city was completely shut down, I mean no traffic no one on the streets not even barking dogs. From about 8:45 till 9:15 or so you did see a lot of red flashing lights from police cars looking for violators I would guess. But after that an eerie silence everywhere. The mask mandate is serious as well as the curfew. We used a Didi for our departure and found out the driver was on the road that day with the wrong license plate and he was busted to the tune of $150 fine. I can not remember seeing one person without a mask the entire week and I was out and about quite a bit during daylight hours all week. This includes the low end of the population who inhabit the streets. I was surprised we did not have any problems getting into restaurants or going shopping. |

The bad news is that the police now send a female cop to make sure you are in your room by 9:15. ![]() The good news is that she is hot and looking to earn some extra cash. ![]() Nothing has changed, but new measures are being discussed and expected on or about August 8. Monitor TicoTimes, QCostaRica, or CRHoy. |

Does the extended curfew include places like Cocal? Also any word on clubs? |

I believe the extended curfew is for driving only not for restaurants or bars. Nightclubs still closed. Covid infection rates really went up the last week. Delta variant just starting it's run in CR. |
