I would be willing to bet that Pops had more fun in the past 20.years.. than 20 guys stuck in the USA will collectively have in their entire lifetimes. I am not the guy to do it.. but maybe someone here (might possibly be willing) to set up a 'Go Fund Me' for his CR wife and their K*ds

I think his wife will be able to collect his pension of a retired police officer which I hope will help her

Not likely if she was not his wife when he started getting the pension. But all of that will need to be determined...

On behalf of all the gentlemen Mongers Pops helped and befriended, I am open for hosting a small gathering for those of us in town to Celebrate Pops life.

Please PM interest or rsvp if Saturday or Sunday noon works for you. Very Low key.

If someone else has something planned, please disregard, I meant no disrespect.

PS - I'm heading to SL at 2pm for lunch and will be there until I can't drink anymore....stop by and introduce yourself. I will be the biggest, tallest, whitest guy at the bar!

Unless she has Citizenship in the USA it is highly unlikely. I know Social Security does not pay if the spouse is not a US Citizen and my pension is the same. Unless my wife is able to get US citizenship before I kick the bucket she is out of luck for the monthly checks. She does still get my other assets but SS and pension are off the hook.

I am amazed at how quickly epidemiologists become lawyers.

Sad news and so sudden. RIP Pops. He helped so many people. As others have mentioned, we never know when our time is up.

Oh damn. I will miss Ed.
He was an interesting person. If he considered you a friend then you had the best friend life can offer.
I might say more later once I absorb the shock.

Pops has passed. I talked to him last night around 11pm. Then this morning when I returned from having breakfast, the police and ambulance were next door. I have identified the body. The police have tried to contact his wife, but she does not answer her phone. They also have his son's phone number.

Pops was a friend and a legend in the hobby that was always there to help. When I saw him in June we spent a ton of time together touring and partying. He even introduced me to his sons and wife. This was a guy who would bend over backwards to help his fellow man and he will be missed.

You meant so much to so many and taught me how to have fun in this hobby, Pops. Thank you.

Pops defined the role of a Goodwill Ambassador. Just meeting him enriched the lives of many people and altered, for the better, the trajectory of a lot of tourists.

Thanks for being there Pops, we'll miss you - and remember you.
