Why ju guys discussing this? Sometimes the forest needs to burn down to the ground.. before new 'growth' can emerge. Why beat a dead horse.. just because it can't take you for rides anymore. The 'good old days' have zero bearing on today or anything that the future will bring. If nostalgia ever becomes more important than my life now or my future dreams.. I will make sure that my dog will be taken care of and I will drink myself to death (not going to happen to me) "Get busy living or get busy dying" (Andy Dufresne said to Red in The Shawshank Redemption) None of us will ever continue to live off of our Moms tit forever.. period

Will they still be selling those great T-shirts 'Gone Fishin' with the marlin chomping down of a cigar butt?

Beating a dead horse again for those who want to know what the future might hold for the HDR. If you don't care about the future of the HDR, by all means, feel free to quit reading this post and go on to the next one.

I was walking by again on 2.16 and there were 3 guys sitting in there so I opened the door and started talking to them. The intel I gathered was that they would reopen sometimes in March but it would be more of a family type hotel however girls would be allowed to enter with a guest but not be allowed to enter and just hang out. No mention of a chica fee.

I stayed at the Castillo from Mon thru Fri early a.m., the last 3 days not by choice. Our flight got canceled and IAH was shut down for a couple of days. At it's busiest, there were 15+ girls. A lot of porkers but several skinny, pretty ones.

Props to the Castillo. Ride to the airport on the house for staying 4 nights & they picked up 1/2 of the COVID test fee. Nasal swab was not near as bad as the one I took over here several months ago.

Went to Monica's and hooked up with sweet little Zoe 4 different sessions. Skinny, very pretty, humble as can be and awesome service. Highly recommended. A bit of baby damage but incredible service.

Perhaps they can handle the overflow from the Don Carlos.

If HDR opens as a "family hotel", they won't make it. Once they start failing financially within a few months, they'll start letting the girls in. Just like the Castillo....if the Castillo didn't starting letting the girls in, they'd have NO guests.

Not sure that is a good comparison...but in any case there is a lot of pressure in Costa Rica to "clean up" their reputation and get away from any image of being a sex tourism destination. And the HDR was the most prominent symbol of that. And so far every major hotel in the downtown area has distanced itself from the sex trade. And there are lots of tourists in normal times. The Holiday Inn downtown seems to generally be very busy with tourists, although not during Covid probably. And a complex including the HDR, along with Sleep Inn, and 2 casinos - and assuming they renovate a bit - could be a major tourist draw for centro San Jose. I would not bet against it. And it might be moving that direction under some level of threat from authorities that would not allow the old business model to continue.

Good points Zeos.....so what's the new "San Jose"? Jaco is too crazy for me. The two great places in Panama City are shut down. Maybe Medellin?

Is Key Largo on tilt also?

Don't know what "on-tilt" means but it was locked up & a locked chain blocking the parking lot as of 2.18.2021

Went by the Del Rey today for the annual St. Pat’s party. There were only ghosts floating around with shamrocks on...

Rumor each month is the Del Rey will open next month. In reality I doubt it will ever reopen. The rumor exists probably to avoid paying owed benefits to the employees who worked there before covid. If they officially announce they are not reopening the benefits become due. Between taxes, owed benefits and badly needed renovation I doubt that the owners can swing the financing. It was a good thing while it lasted. It has been on the ropes for years. The Cocal pretty much sealed it's doom by their recent expansion. There will be a scene in San Jose, just not the same scene and not at the Del Rey. The King is dead, long live the King.
