Hotel Castillo is also pleased to announce that the Antigen Rapid Test is available for onsite testing. Guests may select either type of test and receive the results via email.

Do you have to be a guest of the SL or Castillo to use their testing?

Sportsmans...they do NOT test on Sundays.
Please be careful on what they tell you, do your research.
My friend and i we're given conflicting and erroneous info.
We booked our own reservation online at the hospital, 2 hr turnaround time for results. $30000 costa rican.

Was that at the Clinica Biblica Hospital? Can you give us an online contact?
Thanks so much Jaymar.

I went to Clinica Biblica on a Sunday (I had a Tuesday morning flight).

They do the tests in the 6th floor parking garage.

It costs about $88 when you convert the amout to USD equivalent.

I got my results by e-mail less than 24 hours later.

You do not need an appoinment.

I just returned from Mexico and had to get tested prior to coming back to the states. The good thing was the resort included an antigen test as part of the all inclusive fee. Results were available 24 hours later and they gave me a signed form stating that I tested negative. I was quite surprised that they barely glanced at the form when we boarded our Delta flight to return and we kept the form. No one asked to see it at border control in Atlanta.

Hopefully it is as easy returning from Costa Rica this April. Maybe Biden will ease the restriction by then (not likely).

Harddrive- I heard the same thing from a Tica friend who was in Cancun last week,
she had mentioned the larger all inclusive resorts and even smaller hotels were providing free test on premises to all guests that needed it to return home.

I was surprised when I came back to the USA from Colombia last week in Miami no one @ immigration asked about the test or to see the form. I guess they have complete trust in the Am. Airline desk agents who verified it in Medellin.

That's not their job. The airlines have the role of gatekeeper. Once you're on the plane, la migra assumes you've been checked.

CBP can't deny entrance to US citizens or permanent residents after reaching the US border. That's why the airlines have been made the gatekeeper. CBP can't prohibit your entry but they can force the airlines to stop you from boarding a flight to the US.

Are they offering lab testing for return trips to the US in their hotel? So far I haven’t seen a single post about what they are offering for their guests. And I assume Castillo and Sportsman’s testing service is for their guests only, right?

Per the Taormina Hotel & Casino website:

We have arranged with a private lab for guests to receive a Covid-19 viral test at the hotel. The cost of the test is $111 tax included
