Effective immediately, American will eliminate change fees for First Class, Business Class, Premium Economy and Main Cabin (except Basic Economy) tickets for all long-haul international flying when travel originates in North or South America. This new policy matches American’s previous announcement to get rid of change fees on most domestic and short-haul international flying.

I recently put the no change fee policy to use on AA. I booked a 1way award ticket las-sjo through miami for Nov. 22. After I originally booked the ticket, the miles required for the trip kept going down as the trip got closer. I twice cancelled the ticket & rebooked it @ a lower rate. Ended up getting a 1st class ticket for 25k miles.

I think I just read that they have included the basic economy cheap fares under this too. But you have to book the flight by the end of this month for the economy ones. I’ve never seen AA fares this low. About 30% the normal rate for my usual round trip.

Will see how things line up 15 Jan. whether I sick before going, icey runways at DFW or more lockdowns in CR (hopefully NO). My airfare not cheap but used points and got Biz. class! :P

Booked a flight Saturday and had to change with Today on United.

No rebooking fees either. Just fare difference but was same price. Nice for adjusting travel plans.
