Now just need to ditch that insurance and health pass and maybe we can start to get back to a little normalcy.

They will cancel the insurance. I read a report that not one tourist has used their insurance.

If incoming tourists have been negative when they got on the plane there is little chance they would be infected yet as this has not been going for very long. In any case the insurance requirement was an attempt at a money grab, in my opinion. Some airlines are now offering insurance that covers exactly what is required by Costa Rica included in the ticket price. So the underwriters for the airlines insurance must not think they are going to pay out very often.

They cancelled the COVID-19 tests because they will be giving free doses of SARS-CoV2 once you leave the airport.

BTW, Hospital San Juan de Dios is taking a break this weekend and not seeing any critical care patients.

Which airlines are offering the insurance that meets the requirements? I’m going to have to start looking at booking a flight.

So far only Air Canada and Westjet (also Canadian) that I know of. They have flights out of Toronto to San Jose and Liberia. And that would be only for Canadians and Canadian residents I believe.

The only airline I am aware of that is including the insurance needed for CR with the airfare is Air Canada with restrictions such as only Canadian residents, maximum stay of 21 days.

Thanks guys. I’d be flying out of ATL or CLT so no go there. But with the trouble I’m having with finding a flight that fits my schedule, the insurance issue may not be a
a problem by then.

I can just see it: The rush and surge of horny young U.S. bucks to CR unable to control their hormones and subsequent surge in new Corona cases. Before long CR will be closed down again.
