Good news and bad news. Today the government announced new restrictions. The good news is the airports are still open with no new requirements. The bad news is slight changes in existing restrictions that will effect your stay from New Years until the end of January. The worst of the restrictions effect the general population here worse than tourists. Bars and casinos will be restricted to 25% capacity down from 50% capacity from Jan 4th until Jan 17th. The beaches will close at 2;30pm daily. Driving will be restricted lowering the hours over the New Years weekend and on weekends. I don't know how this will effect the Sportsman's and Castillo. I believe the bars there are only open as restaurants and there are no announce restrictions on the restaurants. It has been at 50%. A couple of weeks of headaches but not the end of the world.

I think the good news about airports remaining unrestricted, outweighs the rest. It's funny that the best part of my 2017 CR trip would have been unaffected by anything going on with covid now. And that was the 8am date with Karen that only required a whatsapp message and no bar visiting. Getting contacts through creative ways will get around it all or most of it.

Here is a great big Phuck YOU AND YOURS.....

I comply with the rules when I am around others. What I did not ask for is the fact that I was put into a position to lose my Christmas with family, because of some stupid phucking flight attendant that sat this infected person behind me causing my safe space to be compromised. They should have left the infected Phucker where he was as everyone around him was already screwed. Why bring him to a new area and possibly infect others. phucking STUPID. Unfortunately, people will die from the virus but that is what evolution looks like. Survival of the fittest will never change. I will go when it is my time to go and I will not be phucking crying about it, death does not scare me, but I also do not look for it to happen. You cannot change the hand you are dealt so grow some phucking balls and deal with it.

I just had a fun trip..... ..... Its all about money and power to see how many rights can be taken from the public before shit really hits the fan. I for one know where I stand on this issue and it is not with the paranoid sheep.

Was feeling bad for you with the flight being turned around and all the trouble... but with your last comments I would say...hope you get it and get your wish.

Your rights end if your shit gets in my face. So the least you can do as a decent human being is respect those around you. Which obviously you do not.

Completely wrong. I do not like it, but I comply with the rules. I do bitch about it, but I wear a mask because I do respect those around me. My rights were the ones that were violated when they knowingly sat an infected person close to me that had already been sitting in their seat 20+ rows ahead of me for 2+ hours. I keep my distance and for the most part, stay away from others.

Oh, and for the record, I have already had it thanks to some other C*ck sucker that flew while sick.

I stand corrected then. I totally agree with your right to bitch about it, as you say. We can agree to disagree about things, but from your explanation above you do respect those around you. My apology.

Apology accepted and I did not take offense, I figured you were speed reading and missed part of my story. I hate the masks with a passion, but one has to pick his battles, and this is one I have no chance of winning, so I make the best of it. In addition, I certainly would have a tough time knowing I caused someone else to get sick and possibly need major medical involvement or even death. I have always been one to stay home if I am sick, and when I was living with others, I would stay in my room as much as possible to try and prevent anyone else in the house from getting sick. That is a common courtesy in my book, but unfortunately, a lot of people need to work or simply do not care and go out into public and spread the disease. I do not need a big brother standing at my door though. People need to use their heads and be considerate of others and I will preach with you all day long about that. Personal accountability has been lost in today's society as it is all about ME now.

My bigger beef with this whole thing is with the closures and lockdowns. Where is the money for local governments going to come from if most of the businesses fail. Major reductions in tax revenues, money flowing out at ridiculous speed, and the people that need the help the least are the ones getting all the help. For Christ's sake did Tom Brady really need 900,000.00 of government help and then buys a 2 million dollar boat. I am sure many small businesses that were denied help could have saved their business with a portion of that 900,000.00. I am fortunate that I live within my means and have liquid assets but I received no government help thru any of this. Turned down for SBA assistance, No Unemployment, No local grants, yet I was forced to close my doors for 3 months. I still had to pay rent, mortgage, utilities, etc. but could not produce income. So I do have a bitter taste from all this. I refuse to quit living life though but I do distance myself from others and I constantly get tested to make sure I am not infected. Test # 6 is scheduled for the 28th which will give the virus time to grow if I was in fact infected. My results from test 5 taken on the 21st was negative and I received that while in the air returning to Los Angeles.

Wow, it was incredibly unfortunate that you became infected with covid 19 while flying once before. This article just appeared today in QCostarica discussing how safe flights are now, especially with the masking requirements in place.

Already booked for the 5th and have 2 covid tests scheduled before then to make sure I did not get infected. first one is the 28th and that should be enough time for the virus to show up in my system, 2nd one on the 4th just to be doubly sure. Had the guy been sitting behind me from the beginning I would have just chalked it up to luck of the draw. Since he was put there after the crew knew he was positive is what really pissed me off.

I honestly do not think they have definitive answers and are just giving a generalization of immunity. I think the way this thing mutates if you do get it again it will be very mild unless you had a bad case the first time. I think very few of the severe cases were due to covid alone. Personally, I think the underlying conditions have more to do with the severity than the virus itself. If you think of Covid as similar to HIV but on a much faster timeline at stage 1 you get the cough, loss of taste, fever, etc., if your immune system is not strong enough to fight it off (Hence Underlying Conditions) you move to stage 2 pretty rapidly. That is when you need medical treatment, more than likely hospitalization. At this point, if the drugs do not help your system fight off the virus now you are at stage 3 (AIDS) and probably going to need a ventilator, and your outlook is not good. I do not know how to explain it better than that, but where HIV can go 10+ years without treatment before hospitalization, Covid is probably less than 10 days. Both suck big time, but neither one kills everyone that gets it nor makes them extreamly sick.

I see that the QcostaRica report about catching the virus during your flight is written by a Medical Advisor to the travel industry - IATA (International Association of Travel Agents).

It is like scientists paid by Monsanto to say Roundup is a safe weed killer that does not cause cancer
