I have been hit up the past two weeks with the old "I need to pay rent and I am going to be kicked out and worried about my Ch*ldren" by several ladies asking if I would send them money and they will be sure to pay me back when I am there.

Of course I tell them all no, but I found it interesting the volume the past two weeks. We all get them once in a while, but I am getting them from even girls who never asked before.

Be careful gents...don't do it.

On my trip in June, I noticed some protests over increased taxes and rising prices.

There has been a lot of layoffs in call center and other low pay jobs.

Things are bad and getting worse. And tourism is off.

I've been going to Mexico a lot lately. The economy there has it's troubles....but not once have I ever had a Mexican chica whatsapp me for money. However, I've had a lot of Ticas do it. Then again, Mexico is much cheaper than Costa Rica....but still there is a lot of poverty.

As poor as Mexico is....I guess things are MUCH worse in Costa Rica, at least as far as economy and prices. I still love Costa Rica, but because it has gotten so expensive, I haven't been there in over a year.

Costa Rica's problems are a result of several bad governments. They sold out to China and Ticos dont ever pay taxes. Now they are screwed...hyperbinflatuin and devaluation of currency. They cannot repay China and now throw a ridiculous 13% Iva at everyone.
