Have a trip planned for November and was wondering if there are any poker games going on?

Used to play at the Mona Lisa when Dave and Unal were there. Last time my buddy went, he said the game at the Mona Lisa wasn’t going anymore.

Thought the Rey had done but that it’s normally all locals.

The Mona Lisa is now under the name Taromina Hotel and Casino and the have poker tournaments almost every day, in fact they have built several new private card rooms dedicated just to poker. I get text messages from their marketing department almost daily about specials to join in the current games for that day.

You will have no problem getting in on a game there and it is a well run, american style hotel.
Free breakfast if you book a room there.

Thanks for the reply and update. Is it just daily tournaments or is there a cash game too? Any idea who runs the hotel and/or the poker games?

You will find everything you are looking for now that they have started to focus on poker.
Many of the events for the big money televised live.
I am not a card player but all the rooms always seem very busy.

The hotel is still private but word going around is that they have been shopping for a brand flag to hang out front. When I speak to the staff they have mentioned names like Marriott and Hilton as potential partners but that seems to change every month when I visit. I stay in an apartment directly across from the casino so I iom in there almost daily.

Another benefit is that they allow the freelance Ticas in both the bar and casino.
Now I doubt that will be allowed once they hang a brand name flag on the front door.
I have gone in there at all hours of the day and night and it is hit or miss with the girls but many of the girls you see at Sportsmans will move to Taromina after the Sportsman's closes.

Check out this link for more on the casino;

Poker games can definitely add some extra fun to your adventure. It's a shame to hear that the game at the Mona Lisa isn't happening anymore. Things can change pretty quickly in the gaming scene.
If you're open to trying something new or want to spice up your gaming experience, I recently discovered what I believe is the best game for real money. For me, it's a cool way to enjoy poker while having a shot at winning some extra cash.
So, you might stumble upon a hidden gem where you can enjoy a great game of poker with both locals and fellow travelers.

The reason that the Mona Lisa games are not happening is because the Mona Lisa is now the Taormina Hotel and Casino. As previous posters have stated there is a ton of poker available there.

I'm excited about this thread. I'm a professional poker dealer myself, and planning to stay at the Taormina in mid March. I enjoy playing too, though definitely not a grinder type player. Only a modest gambler.

I hope to be able to stir into a game or so, even if its a tournament, though cash games are better for just walking away when there are other things on the schedule for the day.
