Boynton wrote: I will save my 6 liter duty free allowance for premium liquors, or things not available here. Just so you know if you have room in your carry on or in your checked bag that you can get to the duty-free store that has the room they will let you put extra bottles in your luggage. I have done this on a few different occasions but unless you speak Spanish I would not attempt it. |

If you are in San Jose go to Sanjise Liquor (Avenida 10) CHEAP CHEAP, but you need to speak Spanish and only pay in Colones (not US dollars even, nor credit cards). They sometimes don't have what you want, but go back the next day and they will. It is a sketch place where you order basically from outside through metal bars. Some prices: (colones) Crown: 12,000 Fireball: 13000 Patron Silver: 24000 Glenfiddich 12 year: 33000 |

Besides buying a couple bottles at duty free when you get to Costa Rica it is way more fun to buy drinks at Sportsmens, and watch sports and meet women that will tell you how cool you are. |

If you are not aware, you can bring a bottle to Sportsman and pay a fee for them to label it as your bottle and keep it for you. Just pay for mixers if you want mixers. I honestly don't recall what the fee is, but is worth it if you plan to be there a while and bring your bottle you bought on the cheap. |

I would let Bill weigh in on this, but I believe you can buy a bottle at the bar in Sportsmens, but I do not believe you can bring a bottle to the bar. Of course what you do in your room is up to you.... All I was saying it is more fun to drink at the bar at Sportsmens and not worry about buying and dealing with outside liquor |

I have a few bottles sitting there waiting for my return. I just think it is another great thing about SL. |
