To most people, Pura Vida translate into Pure Life and we hear it all the time.
I didnt quite understand the subtleties of Pura Vida at first, I heard it all the time and it sometimes it didnt seem relevant to the conversation and made no sense until it was clear that it means a millions of other things. Use it liberally because it has a ton of other uses.

A few examples:
your lady shows up 2 hours late for the 8 AM appointment, with no explanation. You scold them and they say " Pura Vida"
This means, "So what, let it go, leave me the heck alone"

You get pickpocketed, you catch the thief with your phone. They say " Pura Vida ! :
This can mean, " screw you, what are you going to do about it "

The gorgeous 10 at the HDR, says "I charge $150 for 30 minutes, everything's covered, take it or leave it !"
You respond, with a smile, " Pura Vida !" and move on.

How is everything today ? "Pura Vida"
You made a pass at my favorita and I'm upset ! " Pura Vida'
The milk went all over my white shirt; the condom broke !; etc..
You get the idea.
Try it in the day-to-day life in CR and apply it liberally. The ladies will be impressed, lol
Pura Vida

I always thought "pura vida" was used in the same way as Hawaii's "aloha", Australia's use of the word "cunt", and the mafia's "fugetaboutit".
