WiseAsh? Are you back in Costa Rica? With all the changes in laws in the last couple years I was trying to follow the story, but the last newspaper article I saw was from March of '17. |

I'll be coming by to check these out : "See our full stock of La Trenza de Nicaragua cigars. Affordable and tasty" My view is I like cigars and have smoked them for 40 plus years, but paying the Cuban cigar prices, I'd rather put that money into smoking something that...well...I'm told not to discuss these matters on CRT... ![]() ![]() ![]() |

I should be back in Costa Rica full time in March or April. It is up to a federal judge. Presently serving 3 years of probation and in March I will have served 1.5 years. Usually released after serving half of the probation. In full disclosure, I plead guilty in federal court to 1 count of possession of marijuana with no intent to distribute. Spent 1 year in federal prison. Can tell you lots of stories good and bad. The good is that because of my incarceration I spent 4 months in hospital, 2 surgeries and sepsis, subsequently cured of bilateral kidney cancer. |

Update: Well I got released from federal probation. That chapter of my life is finished. I was then told by my Sarasota kidney cancer specialist that my kidney cancer has a recurrence and I would need more surgery. I then went to the Moffitt Cancer Center in Tampa. They told me that I was cancer free. I couldn't hardly believe the good news. Okay, I will return to San Jose permanently and be full time at The Havana Humidor Room on June 1. Whether you want 1 cigar or boxes of cigars, I will be happy to personally help you. Wiseash |

Glad to hear things have taken a turn for the better. Personally, I quit smoking cigars about 8 years ago but always appreciated the hospitality when I was in your office with friends. Your service is top notch and know you have been missed by many. |

I am a reasonably avid cigar smoker and I visited Havana Humidor Room in late March. What I expected was reasonably priced cigars and a great selection. What I experienced was outrageously priced cigars and a good selection. I politely paid $27 for a Punch Cigar (that would have cost about $7 in the USA) and left. Not surprisingly there were no other customers in the place while I was there. Nice place and courteous employees but the price of the cigars were prohibitive. No offense, just saying I went back to La Amistad and Rudy helped connect me with a local cigar guy that came to me and sold me excellent local cigars for about $5 each. The reason for my comment is this: Why so expensive at HHR? I could see paying a bit more for a cigar there, but it just seems like it is chasing customers away to price a cigar so prohibitively. BTW, welcome back to the outside world after your time in the pen and best of luck with continued good health. |

The prices are crazy. Beyond Gringo pricing high. The import Tariffs must be 100-200% I bring my own. |

Because the Cuban cigars are actually Cuban cigars (Habanos S.A.) and not the non-Cuban Cigar General brands of the same names rolled in Nicaragua or the DomRep? Because Habanos S.A. rigorously controls distribution and pricing? Because Cuban cigars are so widely counterfeited? Buy your counterfeit Cohibas outside the HDR. Maybe they are made with tobacco. Now price a Padron 1926 Family Reserve in the US. |
