Haha, he's Korean, his name is Dr. Lee, great guy, I know him over 10 years now.

By the way, you're kidding yourself if you think "Real Viagra" is any better than generic. I've done both numerous times and never detect a difference. Dr Lee gets good quality generics and so does "Russ"...

Why is sildenafil cheaper than Viagra?
As a generic medicine, sildenafil is produced by a number of manufacturers, and competition among them helps to regulate its price and keep it affordable for consumers. Branded Viagra is only produced by Pfizer, whose name recognition and customer loyalty allow it to charge a higher price for its renowned ‘little blue pills’.

Is one preferable to the other?
Viagra and sildenafil are medically the same. It is a requirement for the generic version to contain the same levels of the active ingredient in the body as its branded alternative, which is known as bioequivalence. Before generic drugs are licensed for sale the manufacturer must demonstrate bioequivalence to the licensing authorities (the European Medicines Agency).

The smiling Korean, I thought he was from Taiwan, has been taking advantage of non Spanish speaking gringo weekend warriors for along time. Super over priced performance meds, telling his clients that generic cialis was not available in CR etc....kinda of funny to watch.

Farma value the new discount chain has great prices on everything. Two generic Viagra's 100 mg for 1300 c. Two generic cialis for 2900 c. Can't beat those prices. Way cheaper than Russ and not made in India.
Yes generic products are the same as the originals.

I agree that generics will be the same quality as branded drugs in the US and the EU due to regulation which includes strong regulation of production quality of generics. Generic manufactures selling in the US meet the same manufacturing standards as Pfizer.

However, there are drug manufacturing firms making generic versions in other countries (especially India) that never intend to import to US that can be substantially cheaper because they do not have to meet the manufacturing standards and regulatory burden. I these cases it is definitely “buyer beware”. They can vary greatly in strength and purity. These drugs will not be available in the US, they are available in CR.

I know how to look up FDA inspection records (or lack because they do not import to US) because it is my business. Otherwise my best advice is to use a trusted source. I have had the discussion with Russ about which generic manufactures make quality products and which to avoid. I’m sure reputable farmacias are also careful about the quality of product they sell.

Sorry you had a bad experience with him, I've been going to him for over a decade and he always gives me good prices on things, I don't have the details but he has cheap 4 packs of generic viagra, I vaguely recall he was slightly but not much pricier than Russ on them.

I've called around and got comparable prices with other pharmacies, in fact the one I used to go to in Sabana when I lived there is always higher than him and their real estate rental costs have to be dramatically cheaper, they're down some side street in a little never busy mall. :?

My doc here gave me the names of allegedly the two cheapest pharmacies in all of San Jose, I immediately wrote them down, put them in my "medical" file and they promptly disappeared, of course. :oops:

In any event, he's given me good advice, good reasonable meds for all my old age ailments and I know I could save a bit if I called my doc and got those pharmacies names, perhaps Farma is one of them, it sounds like it, but luckily for me my med needs are seldom so if I pay a bit more and can get some advice and recommendations, plus the convenience of walking around the corner from HDR, good enuff for me.. :) .

Odd how two people can have opposite experiences with the same person. :?

What name does generic Cialis go by in Costa Rica? Can I just ask for Tadalafil, or is there another name there?

I'm feeling the math today...
So, I bought a 10-pack of Tadalafil from that guy at the pool table. $25 US. That would be $2.50 per. At the current exchange (~c560) that would be c1407.5 per pill, two pills would run c2815. I don't see that c2900 for two would be "Way cheaper than Russ."

Regarding the "not made in India" I wonder if you're aware of how many US meds are manufactured in India?

It's none of my concern where people buy their vitamins, as it has been said, YMMV
I've purchased the vitamins made in CR with varied results and quality.

For several years I've been extremely satisfied with a service that provides consistency, decent prices; they have even mailed a supply to the states and asked me to pay after I've received them. I've tried all three of the vitamins, and even the liquid V. Never a bad batch. Personally L works the best for me.

So, in summary, I'm sticking with "The Pool Guy'

Seems like people are about evenly split between Cialis, Viagra, and Levitra. Viagra was the first generation of these types of drugs so it's a little rougher with the side effects.
Levitra and Cialis are second generation versions so they have less side effects. They target the receptors more efficiently.
The generic levitra is hard to find in CR, so 30$ for 10 tabs is a great deal.
