Thanks in advance Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk yes uber works fine from the airport... you pick up infront of the Cafe that is to the right after you exit from customs at arrivals at SJO past all the taxi hawkers.... last trip it was about 6500 colones to La Amistad around 8pm arrival... about a 2 min wait for the driver.. nice and easy |

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk this may have been true in the past, but a couple trips ago the cops were chasing away the gypsy cab drivers who were harassing customers who were waiting for their UBER at SJO... uber is everywhere in san jose... |

Agreed. Uber is everywhere in CR. I told the official cabbie I was meeting an Uber. No problem. |

Maybe less issues with the policĂa now, but all Uber drivers in San Jose definitely prefer that you sit in the front seat. Especially to and from the airport. Harassment by the taxistas is still very much a thing. No big deal though, great opportunity to practice Spanish! |

I usually fly in in the evening. I order the Uber then I send them a message having him meet me at the Upper level (Departures). It is deserted at night. They always say that is a good idea. Uber is so cheap in Costa Rica that most of my friends here now don't even have cars. |

I would love the convenience but kinda scared of being robbed or kidnapped. Thoughts? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Robbed or kidnapped by an Uber driver? Have you noticed that when that makes the news someplace (India comes to mind) how they've already been caught? With Uber, there is a record from the second you initiate a ride. Who you are. Where you were picked up. Who the driver was. What car he (or she) was in. A red or orange taxi? No record of anything. Nada. Cero. You get in a taxi rojo o narjanja with one of those ladrones on the street or in front of the airport and when you disappear... that's it. It would take the OIJ to do some real detective work to solve that. Safety-wise Uber wins. Yeah, there is some chance you still might get robbed or whatever, but the dude is caught immediately. |
