Stinger, thanks for posting this is was an interesting read. FWIW: Thomas Ray O'Brien, the author of the upcoming Cuba Dave book, used to post on this website under the name Bilko , he has authored several other books dealing with hookers in Costa Rica.

Why would anyone want to buy his book?

I was going to buy it, but I called my old friend Sally Struthers prior to doing so. She suggested my money would be better spent by sending the money to Africa to help Ch*ldren that do not have enough to eat or are in need medicine. When I told her that Africa was so far away and I would feel better if I could personally donate it to a country closer to the USA that I could fly to easily. She said that no matter where I helped out is was always appreciated. I then asked her if giving the money to young unwed mothers to feed their Ch*ldren and get them medicine would be ok. She thought that was a great idea and wanted to know where it was I thinking of doing such a good deed at. When she said she might want to do a telethon to raise funds with me I suddenly got disconnected. Damn that was close........

I'm going to buy it. I need to hear both sides of the story before I judge.

Whatever people think of him, he certainly didn't deserve the shocking injustice he endured. Be careful, we're having fun here and if not for tourism dollars and "Merica" they'd all be barefoot, living in grass huts, and Ortega would be ruling over Guanacaste... but don't forget, in spite of that you're not in "Merica" here, and a vindictive third world despot with an ax to grind can destroy your life and you have no repercussions.

Everyone keep your cards close to your vest and enjoy our hobby but lay low. I also advise if you're foolish enough to take pornographic pics, upload them to your email or whatever and then remove them from your phone and always have a clean phone, especially the airport...

I too will buy the book. Those that rely on the media for judgement should at least give the opposing side a chance to explain. Agreed what CD did was pure stupid but stupid doesn't translate to guilty and certainly didn't deserve to lose two years of freedom.

I read the book.

First, it was rushed. I thought I was reading a rough draft (it seriously needs an editor).

Secondly, the man didn't deserve what happened.

Third, pray you never run afoul of the 'law' in another country.
