The president of the USA is sure to sign a bill that congress passed that pretty much punishes websites for hosting ads by ******* who charge money for their "time and companionship". This bill is supposed to fight sex trafficking, but I don't see how a transaction between two consenting adults is contributing to sex trafficking. I, too, think sex trafficking should be prosecuted, but this is not the way to fight it.

In my opinion, there is now officially NO sexual outlet for horny men who want sex out side a marriage or a traditional relationship, for the most part at least. Then again, I'll freely admit that I have no game, so perhaps getting laid for you guys when you want isn't a problem for you.

With the advent of this draconian law, can we expect to see an increase in travel by Americans to foreign destinations such as Costa Rica and Colombia? What do you guys think?

First, from a "consumer's standpoint" I want nothing to do with actual human trafficking. Basically enslaving people.

Whether its a Ukrainian girl lured in by the lie of a "good job" then smuggled somewhere and kept in drugged slavery until "she works off her debt" (never) or a Mexican forced to mule drugs by a coyote to pay off his debt to be snuck into the US or some love-starved runaway und***ge gringa turned out as a whore by the pimp she thought was her boyfriend. Its morally wrong.

That desperate people fall for these things is an age old problem.

On the other hand, I believe that as an adult you own your body - not the all-powerful state. You're free to make decisions and as long as your decisions only affect you it is no business of the all-powerful state. Want to ride a motorcycle without a helmet? Fine. But when you crash it is not our collective responsibility to save your life when your head is cracked like an egg. Decisions have consequences. Congratulations, you're an organ donor.

An adult person who decides to offer a commodity or value (sex) in exchange for value or a commodity (money, dinner, an apartment, whatever) is engaging in the free market as much as a carpenter or a banker.

Hopefully they enjoy the transaction, but many people work jobs they hate. So if you session with a Jaco 10 that lies there like a starfish but you are just into the visuals and feel you got value for money, great! If you don't, then you exercise the consumer's option on the free market and pass her by next time.

Some girls are driven by economic necessity more than others. Is that "human trafficking" because she feels trapped by Costa Rica's high unemployment, low wages, high cost of living, the need to care for K*ds or parents and / or a lazy Tico boyfriend that won't work and got her pregnant at 14?

Well, if it is, then I'm a "victim of human trafficking" too. I have to work to pay bills, eat, etc.

I've discussed this many times with mi novia. She kept her vida real and her vida laboral seperate (she still does). She works to pay for university, living expenses and she saves money. Other girls spend as fast as they get and never have a colon put aside (like one who famously drives a BMW).

As to whether or not this will increase American travel to Costa Rica? I don't know. If this becomes law it will be tested in the courts as people try to find loopholes.

Edited to add: It is interesting that while simultaneously pushing to lower "adulthood" to 16 (so high school K*ds can vote for them) statists make the counter-argument that 18-21 year-old persons are too immature to drink or own a rifle. Apparently "adulthood" is, like gender, a fluid 'social construct' that bears no relationship to reality except to serve certain interests.

How many men in the United States are adamant that prostitution remain illegal? How many women insist that it should be their right to control their own bodies? Most women oppose legalization of prostitution. They want to be free to do what they want with their body but oppose other women having the same freedom. The trend towards men being accused of sexual misconduct is such that a man needs to carry consent forms with them and have them signed and witnessed before beginning any interaction. The main thing keeping men in the states from coming to Costa Rica is they have no idea what they are missing. If you have never experienced freedom you have nothing to compare it against. Costa Rica is a life changing adventure. If you forgot where you put your balls come here. You can find them or grow a new set.

Good points by all. The USA is a strange bird. We can buy all the guns we want (I am a huge supporter of the second amendment, so I'm not dissing it. I have more than one gun, including an AR-!5 and I might want to own another one) and a woman can kill her unborn Ch*ld pretty late into pregnancy in more than one state....but heaven forbid that an adult male pays an adult female for a blowjob!

We've heard of the movie, "No country for old men." Well, the USA is becoming no country for horny men LOL. I guess it could be worse. We could be living in the Islamic Republic of Iran, where I wouldn't be surprised if the penalty for paying for sex is death. Still, that's not much of a consolation.

Actually I read somewhere that in Iran you can get a marriage license for a few hours (no need for divorce) and neither the woman or you would be breaking any law: http://www.vocativ.com/world/iran/tehra ... index.html

Not to worry. Once Trump is castrated later this year after congressional elections and is permanently ousted 2 years later when the Liberal Democrats regain control then, in time, things should revert back to the way they were and Backpage along with all the other sources for P4P will return. Just requires patience.

I think the anti-sex worker crusade is driven by the Progressives, who hate fun.

The catch phrase is "human trafficking".

Somehow choosing to do something because you need to eat is 'economic slavery'.

MM3 I totally agree with your points but the dried up little old lady Bible thumpers are also
a factor along with feminists and misguided NGOs.

Thats hilarious, where do you get your news? Clickhole.com?

You guys are delusional if you think that trafficking is anything other than a facade to gain public support in the government's war on prostitution (yes trump bashers, that includes nearly all of congress). The implication of the "trafficking" terminology is that prostitutes are slaves. This new law even criminalizes 'facilitating’ of trafficking, and defines this as including consensual sex work.

Check out the manipulation used in the media in this polk county prostitution sting, misleadingly referring to it as a human trafficking bust. https://www.abcactionnews.com/news/region-polk/undercover-human-trafficking-online-prostitution-sting-nets-nearly-300-arrests-in-polk-county

I have had to work my entire life, ergo I am a victim of human trafficking.

Yep, this is absolute truth, unfortunately. This horrible law is one of the few things that Trump and 99.9 % of congress (except for Rand Paul) support. Politicians from both major political parties, along with raging Bible-Thumpers and hardcore feminists support this legislation. Strange bedfellows, I know, but it is what it is. A trendy phrase today is "the war on women". That's hogwash. If anything, there's a war on American men and their sexuality and it is being waged by the state with the approval of feminists and evangelical/fundamentalist Christians.

I wouldn't be surprised one day if they pass a law that prohibits men from engaging in sex tourism in places such as Costa Rica, Colombia, or Thailand.

A couple of you have a hard time understanding the rules of this board, i.e. politics. It is one thing to discuss the law and its implication for the hobby and our lives, but to bring in specific politicians and notions of left or right, is just divisive. Plenty of other places for that.
