I arrived on 4/10 at 1145. I was impressed by the way they have improved immigration in the arrival area. They now have individual lines for each agent. It makes the flow of people much smoother and more efficient.
Departure was arranged the same way and improved the process somewhat, but with only a few xray machines the amount of improvement is limited But good on them for trying.

How was the customs lines? Have they improved the baggage area departure? That seems to be the biggest problem I have seen on my last two trips! Very long lines!

Thanks

Yes there were 3 separate lines roped off, for putting your bags into one of the machines. However, people still don't realize all their bags need to go thru the machine and this does cause delays as they have to come back to put their purse or handbag into the machine. I think they have this paperless immigration figured out. I have been thru the process 6 times since they went paperless and this was the smoothest process to date.

How does this new paperless immigration method work? I usually get some extra papers to fill-out ahead of time.

On arrival, you fill out one form for customs that you present to the person at the x-ray machine. There is no form for immigration, just your passport.
On departure, there are no forms. You give them your passport and they scan it.

When I was there in March, the xray guy would not take the form given by the airline. Had to fill out new form at x ray. Had to go thru the line twice.
