By the way, I do not know this to be a fact. It is just what is being reported today in the newspaper here. I was told by a "very reliable" source several weeks ago that this was the case. But in Costa Rica I seldom totally trust even "very reliable" sources!!! |

It's nice to know that the paper was able to confirm this on an unofficial basis (Este jueves se confirmó en forma extraoficial) ....... whatever that means. ![]() ![]() ![]() Like we always say, it's hard to find the truth in Costa Rica. |

The article seems to indicate that the chicas will move on to the Key Largo and the mayor's office did not know anything about the sale. The source of the news wanted to remain anonymous. No remodeling permits have been filed with the city to date. If all of this is true, it should be a big boon to area hotels that are chica friendly, like the Morazan. The new "family friendly" Hotel Del No-Play will face stiff competition from other hotels like the Presidente, Holiday Inn and Dunn Inn. |

I still see no reason "families" will want to stay there, dog shittt hood, reputation, if they give up their gambling n hoes, they will lose big as well they should. |

Some guys just do not seem to understand that except for a relatively small group of "holdouts", sex tourism is just about dead (nun-existent) here in San Jose. No hotel (not even the REY) can continue to operate at less than 60% occupancy indefinitely. I remember many guys saying the Presidente and the Dunn Inn would never make it without the mongers!! Well guess what!! Both have more business and are making more money than they ever did as a monger hotel!! As I have been saying for years, "We mongers are just NOT AS IMPORTANT as a lot would like to believe"!!! I do not know if the REY has been sold for sure or not, nor who bought it if so. If it has sold, I do not know what their plans are. I do not know what Big John's plans are for himself nor the Key Largo. I do know that his health is not good at all and that the REY has been running on a less than 60% occupancy rate for the past 2 years. I also know that as prevalent as the amount of rumors and talk over the last few months about the REY changing there just about has to have been some bases in truth-just too much for there not to be at least some truth!!! |

Well, those are hotels in nicer areas with nicer rooms, they aren't the center of action like HDR, and I still don't see "families" there, mostly husbands n wives, and South American business people, but who knows, if so, I bet the owners of SL and Zona and the other place, old Mona Lisa? are licking their chops, biz is about to get much better... |

Since I have a reservation Nov 8-10, I sent an email, here's my response... "Just rumors, we still open, we are remodeling rooms but not closing, the news paper in which appear this item is one of the worst in Costa Rica." So that's what they're saying... Oh well, if they are closed when I get there, I'll be at bench #3 in Morazan... ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Net, just kidding. You did say you might be on a bench in Parque Morazan, but hopefully not after dark. |

THAT is phucking funny. Hookers, prostitutes, and drugs next to business, family, and tourists. Think of the endless possibilities there. To all you worried about this, go to the Hooters in San Pedro by the mall. You WILL enjoy the scenery. Just reciprocate. Put some Levis 569 jeans on; go sit in the stool, and turn to face the big screen with your legs open. The ladies love that.I had one walk by fanning herself. |
