Beans.......... 15 varieties of dried beans in a plastic bag to make delicious, 15-bean soup. Like the chicas don't already have enough beans.

On one occasion, the customs guy at the airport conveyor belt confiscated 2 bags of these beans (agricultural material - - seeds)

As someone who has lived here for years I can tell you there are a LOT of what might seem to be strange items to be requesting someone bring down, but there are many items that either cannot be found here at all or are very expensive here. Just using some of the items mentioned earlier on this thread:

Bacon-even finding bacon can sometimes be a chore and finding good bacon is almost impossible. When you do find it, the price will be double what it is in the states. Cheese: If you do find good cheddar or any other good cheese expect to pay 3 times the price in the states. For example Kraft cheddar, 10oz package that is usually around $4 or less in the States will be as much as $12 here.

Shirts: Rudy is a "heavy set" guy. So am I!! Finding anything bigger than a Large is hard to do here. And if you do find them, they are made for the tall average build guy, not us short fat guys. In other words, they are small around the middle.

Beans: Outside of Red and Black beans the people and the markets do not know any other kind of bean exists. In Walmart and Auto Mercado you can usually find a few other kinds but if you want pinto, Great Northern, or many of the other types common in the states, forget it. Walmart carried pintos for a while but they did not sell so they dropped them.
