I believe I received 562/1 at Colonial and 540/1 at Taoramina last weekend.

I have a phobia that I would arrive and even though i have vacation money ,some idiot would be on the other end hitting the deny button.i try to yake about 2/3 of budget and atm here and there

I do the same thing taking 60-70% of the cash I need based on my MM budgeting spreadsheet. Start hitting the ATM before I run out. There have been a few times where most ATM's in the gulch were out of money or didn't work. It happens a lot during holidays or Halloween week. Never want to be low on cash when opportunity strikes!

Well, telling your bank you are going to Costa Rica normally fixes that.

And the ATMs near the HDR (Av. 1 towards the Morazan) are often zero fill on dollars until the banks open.

But I normally withdraw colones from ATMs (I try to use colones exclusively).

I do notify bank credit cards ,last trip to europe about a year ago after 5 days .Bank card 1 was taken by atm(bank stated card reported stolen).Bank card 2 had suspicous activity on it in tennesse while i was in Venice Italy,so it was froze.....Again I like to budget and just exchange and sprinkle atm in ...Just my prefrence
