I have a new prescription for eyeglasses from my Dr. in L.A. I tend to splurge on designer frames so that when it's all said and done my new glasses (frames and lenses) wind up costing me $500 - $600. If I bring my prescription to CR when I come this week can they use my U.S. Prescription and if so would there be any "meaningful" savings by buying in CR? Thx. |

Recently, I went to the Asembis Clinic on the corner of Avenida 1 and Calle 3 in SJ. I got a refraction (new prescription) that was "right-on" for 3,000 (about $6). I got new lenses for my existing U.S. frames for about 30 Mil (about $60). They have a large selection of frames at various prices. No appointment is necesary. Just take a number, sit down and wait. All of this was a SUBSTANTIAL saving over U.S. prices. I believe that Asembis will honor a U.S. prescription because my CR prescription was in the same format that is used in the States. The CR opticians should have no trouble understanding a U.S. prescription. |

Good to know Rac, what was the turn around time to get the glasses completed? |

Turn around time for the lenses was just a few days - - - less than a week. |
