Based on the responses here so far, I probably will fall into the minority.
Too many people here ask very simple questions that have covered numerous times, they come off as being too lazy to do a little research on their own before asking the board. There is an entire section dedicated to Newbies, that contains an entire thread Guide for Newbies that is updated when information changes. There is also a search function that is easy to use as well. Too many people try to get all of the benefits of the board with making a small investment by purchasing a membership.
The board is not really any different than any other message type board, the snarky, sarcastic types are on every board ( I will admit to being that type a few times).
A agree with most of what you posted and would add that the Newbies on the board, who only post when they want information, and are to friggin lazy to at least attempt to look for it, are annoying.
The two types of posters I dislike are, first, "know it all's" who think they know everything about every possible subject imaginable. They always have to have the last word. I have always felt that maybe 2-3% of all people who post and act like big shots on message boards do so build their own ego's or to replace something that is missing in their lives. This would include websites other than CRT or aother monger sites.
The other type of poster I have come to dislike are the people who are trying to selling us a product or service. The reason for their post are to bring attention to their product or service not to add anything useful to the community. Those folks should be required to buy an add or have their post deleted.
As far as the "head butting contest" that occur on CRT it does not effect me that much. I have been involved in a few myself. That kind of thing exist on all message boards and over the years I have been on sports message boards, legal message boards, political message boards as well as other monger boards. It just comes with the territory.
