Today's AM Costa Rica has a great link to "piropos"--Spanish pick-up lines. http://www.todopiropos.com/index.php No English translations, but some great lines. Some of my favorites: Si la belleza fueran segundos... tu, para mi, serÃas 24 horas!! (If beauty were seconds...you would be my 24 hours!!) Si tu cuerpo fuera carcel y tus brazos cadenas, seria u bonito sitio para cumplir mi condena. (If your body were a jail and your arms chains, they would be a perfect spot to serve my sentence). And the ever popular: Guapa, dime el nombre de tu ginecologo......para chuparle los dedos. (Cutie, give me the name of your gynecologist....I want to lick his fingers) Before using the last one outside of the DR, I'd suggest reading the AM Costa Rica article about the possible consequences. |

The amazing thing to me is that, according to the article, almost 3,300 men in CR have had judicial complaints filed against them by women in 2003 and 2004 resulting in 30 days community service (50 days now being proposed by a Tica legislator) or fined, just for speaking words on the street to passing women. I guess some of us could file complaints against the chicas in the BM and elsewhere. I feel so cheapened and dehumanized by their whispered comments and touching of a sexual nature. They may not understand the word corn flakes. So, you can use cereales as a substitute.
