I believe they do, but the Ron Rico flows like water (I actually like Centanaro).

Go to the SJO airport web site and look for the location of the duty free shop.

Yes they sell Bacardi Rum in both Silver and Gold along with some other types. Get the Flor de Cana 7 year though as it is much better.

all depends on what time of day the plane lands. If you have a late evening arrival then you are out of luck with Costa Rica duty free, you may have to get it at duty free at the US airport.

Flor De Cana, I love the stuff. Happily they have it in liquor stores here and can even find it in some bars & restaurants in Florida. At duty free, they sell a sampler pack with the Flor De Cana clears, looks cool in the home bar but I still prefer the 7 year. Tastes just like, or even better, than Zacapa at half the price.

For you rum lovers, when in COL, or Panama duty free, try Ron Colombia, Especial de Reserva....so smoothe...and a cool bottle too.

My favorite use for the Flor de Cana is: Half a ripe pineapple, half to 3/4 can of cream de coco (the sweetened stuff), Generous pour of rum and ice blended up into a pina colada. If you like more coconut flavor then use Malibu rum..... Warning though they are addictive and much better than the ones made up at bars using the mixes.

Also, where is duty free located after one gets off the plane
It is located in the baggage claim area. You will walk by it, whether or not you have checked bags.

Hi all, does anyone know if the duty free sells Bacardi Rum? Also, where is duty free located after one gets off the plane, don't want to check a bag just to bring my rum runner containers.. hahaha

Thanks

Once you go through the immigration booth you will turn left. You'll pass a duty free store a few yards down on the right. Skip that one & go past all the baggage carousels & you will find the 2nd store, also on the right. Stop in this one to buy the liquor. It's always a lot less crowded & easier to move around in than the 1st store.

One of my long-time guests brings me very-high end liquor when he comes out to fish. This trip he brought some Ron Zacapa Centenario XO Solera Gran Reserva Especial 25-year old rum. Obviously it was sipping rum. Like drinking satin off a 18-year old nueva tica's thighs.

Indeed, the Zacapa XO ($100 to $110) is incredible, but the 15-year old is nearly as good, for about half the price.

Also Zacapa rum, but the lowest prices, at least in Florida, are at the Total Wine and More stores.
They sell Zacapa 15-year old for around $35.
