So I know there is a section on non-gulch activities. But not much activity there in a while. Any advice for around the San Jose area? Got my primo coming in for his first trip and needs some cover pics. What about this Volcano Adventure tours? Our buddy CD plugged them recently. I'm thinking Jose's Croc tour in Jaco and maybe zipline/tram tour on a day there. What are your best recommendations for around San Jose? Thinking something Sunday or Monday on slower days. Thanks, gracias. |

You can enjoy The Havana Humidor Room for a wide selection of genuine Cuban cigars. Relaxing man cave for the novice cigar smoker or aficionado. Open every day 10 to 8. havanahumidorroom.com and rated on TripAdvisor. |

Rafting the Pacuare. Done it three times over the years. Highly recommended. |

I agree wasn't pleased with the rafting. Day trip to Cartago also the 4in 1 is a good day trip. You can book it at the DR. |

MUST GO!!! Arenal volcano and Hot Springs. If you go, spend minimum 3 hours in the hot springs and stay over one night. If you are over 50 and have at least the minimum aches and pains, the hot springs mineral filled bath will make you feel 20 years old again for a few days. Cute little town of Fortuna sports shopping and numerous restaurants. Stay another day and windsurf or rent a boat on Lake Arenal, take pics of the volcano day and night, many beautiful nature trails for hiking short and long distances, cool mountain air extremely refreshing, I recommend renting cabins there. |

Highly recommended by Outside Magazine & National Geographic in the past. Mostly class 3 rapids with a couple of 4s. |

For a short half day from the Gulch, I used Steve at PVT (fantastic service IMHO) we left the gulch early to Irazu, beat the crowds and nice and clear before the clouds build up mid day... saw some steam from Turrialba back down to Cartago caught some of the service at the cathedral and back to the Gulch before lunch...awesome half day excursion. |

Next time, include Orosi Valley in the trip. Eat at the mountaintop restaurant, visit the dam, the swinging bridge, and maybe the Franciscan Mission. End at Mirador Orosi for a beautiful photo op. |

And if you're into rain forest hiking not far from Orosi is Tapanti National Park. I enjoyed hiking there earlier this year. It is, however, the wettest national park in CR so be prepared. |

Related question, is there a good site with a calendar of sports events and/or concerts? I'm not finding a good all-in-one source. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G900A using Tapatalk |
