My wing and I have rented a condo in Jaco and look forward to hosting some of the Cocal ladies. How should we stock the bar? What are their preferences?
My guess is rum and vodka, especially flavored vodkas. Any others?
What mixers would be needed?
Thanks for your suggestions

Stock up on vodka, Red Bull, and Baileys, and you should be well on your way to pleasing most of the chicas.
And of course orange and cranberry juices.

Yes definitely the flavored vodkas like the Smirnoff ones that come in bottles like beer bottles. Hypnotiq. And some of the girls are liking Fireball.

Thanks for the suggestions.
Brooklynkid, I had never heard of nuvo, but web search says it is a French strong wine in a fancy bottle for $30 for 12 oz. No way that is in my price range for chicas. Interesting suggestion, though.
Jackiethehorn, what is Hypnotiq and Fireball? I have been drinking for 50 years and have not run across these names.
My recent experience has shown that flavored vodkas are not well known to chicas but when they sample them they like them. Watermellon was popular.
Last trip one chica was impressed I was drinking Flor de Cana. Was she an exception or do many chicas like quality rum?

A lot of them seemed like their local brew beer. Imperial I think?

Tequila Rosa
Malibu
Hypnotique (Blue)
Bailey's
Those are the cheaper ones. Malibu and Orange juice is surprisingly good

I'll second the Malibu (coconut rum) suggestion. It's popular with a lot of the chicas.

Nuvo is a French vodka with a little white wine in it. If they have it at the duty free stores, it is not expensive. I paid about $40 for two 750ml bottles at the duty free in FLL and MDE. I think its popularity is fading, because they haven't had it in FLL the last few times I've gone through there. It's best served very cold. You can put an unopened bottle in the freezer and it will be fine; but after its opened, it will freeze.

Fireball is the new hip shot drink for the young crowd, selling more than Jagermeister in the places I have been in Orlando. Like Jagermeister, it is served very cold.

A new fad liquor now is Sheridan's. It is like Bailey's except the bottle is in two parts and is mixed as you pour it. It is not sold in the U.S. except at duty free stores. For me, it is too much trouble trying to get the correct amount of each to pour.

Rum, vodka, Johnny Walker are what they drink when you are buying. When they are partying with friends it is Smirnoff flavored drinks and Guaro. Chilli Guaro shots aren't bad and will loosen them up. Happy hour at the Mona Lisa they are a dollar a shot. Easy to make, Guaro, tabasco, tomato juice, lemon and black pepper.
