That is correct, that's exactly what it said. You must be confused with another post on Advice on HOW to use wifi.

I think this whole thing is way overblown.

How is somebody hacking into your wifi signal and being able to access your phone or laptop going to rob your identity? How many of you store your social security number or date of birth on your phone? I don't. I thought those were needed to steal your identity.

I'm no tech geek so maybe I just don't understand it enough. And what are the chances that out of the hundreds of people using that wifi you will be chosen as the mark?

People who do online banking transactions or credit/debit card transactions on a WIFI network are vulnerable to being hacked (and robbed) ..... even without a S.S number or DOB on the phone or computer they are using. Usually, the bank will make you whole if your account is hacked.
