I do not know CD, but have read his commentaries extensively, which have been invaluable for me. He and Don Gordo have provided invaluable information thru the years. I first came to CR in 2000, and relied on his experiences and postings. I am saddened that he has fallen into such a nonviolent calamity. We all have written posts and posted photos on this page and others. We have shared a camaraderie. I would like to contribute to his legal team, but I am afraid of creating a paper trail with the use of my credit card information, that may come back to haunt me. When I first heard the news of CD arrest, I frantically tried to cancel my trip, but I got no help from the airlines. I could not risk losing the money that I had paid for a business class ticket. I am middle aged with worsening arthritis. Is this the writing on the wall for all of us? Can an obscure law be used to bring down this website, business, or other establishments. I know that Latin America is run by family oligarchs, and the rule of the law may not be worth the paper it is written on. I would prefer a million times to be arrested in the USA for soliciting prostitutes than to spend a night in that notorious CR prison. He may be killed while in prison. No matter how much some of us may dislike him, he needs to be released from prison and banned from the country. My father once told me that when a trap is placed for a mouse, it does catch only the mouse. It catches anything that walks on the trap. Buyers beware. Do I bring my digital camera along or leave it at home? Would an overzealous airport officer decides to inspect digital medial on the day of my departure from CR? |

Here is my 2 cents. Go to costa rica, enjoy yourself take whatever pictures you want and if you are afraid to take them back with you upload them to google drive or some other net based service and enjoy your memories. It was only a matter of time before someone made an example of CD and unfortunately it has happened in CR. He did not heed the warning signs and did not listen to the many people that told him to quit being so public. I would be more concerned being a business owner of an establishment that the girls frequent or a massage parlor but once again the in your face I am a foreigner is not a good path to take. I do not know for certain if he is being held in the same place where the former security guy for Jimmys place is, but if he is there hopefully he is on good terms with him and he has a friend there. Other than that I would not worry in the least about your fun in CR as they are not looking to go after the generic mongers at this time. |

You mean Delta wouldn't give you a full refund becuase CubaDave was arrested for promoting sexual tourism? Hard to believe. I can't believe you expected some kind of special treatment for this. If there was a huge earthquake or flood and half the country was destroyed, I could see the airlines cutting the traveler a break. But not for a whoremonger being arrested. Did they laugh when you asked? I'm just basting balls, but I don't think you were serious anyway.Korpu wrote: Is this the writing on the wall for all of us? Yes, if you do what he did. If you sell whoremonger guide books, maps, post your picture so they can easily identify you, you can expect to be treated the same way as him. For the other 99.9% of guys who travel down there and have their fun legally, and don't post graphic details on social media, most would agree there should be nothing to worry about.Korpu wrote: Can an obscure law be used to bring down this website, business, or other establishments. That stands to be seen. Nobody knows if they will attempt to apply this law in other ways. My guess is that they got their one high profile arrest. It will hold them over for a year or two. It should be a deterrent and keep other wanna be CubaDaves from following in his footsteps. My guess is that they won't try to enforce to this law again. If that were really true, you would cancel your trip no matter what the fees would be. Korpu wrote: Do I bring my digital camera along or leave it at home? Seriously, anybody who even thinks about taking pictures after what just happened needs to have their head examined. Don't think that the CR government can't access anything you upload to some virtual cloud or email.

Do people not read BB57's posts? The guy publicized girls photos without their permission for profit. He pissed off a bunch of citizens and officials in a foreign country. He was targeted because of his lies, taunts, and brazen disregard for the privacy of others. Are you doing any of this? I seriously doubt the average low-key monger has anything to worry about. |

Only time will tell how this "new" law will play out. I think that the owners of zona2 and SL must begin to feel a little uncomfortable. I do agree with Ilv4Play that business establishments where the girls frequent may be between the cross hairs; especially American owned businesses because of the competition. Local Tico business owners may try to stir up trouble. Already, the VIP member photos have been taken down from this site. Self censorship is in full force. We all have to thread softly, lightly, and definitely fly beneath the radar. |

We've taken alot for granted over the years. Monger carefully, enjoy yourself, and like TS says, stay under the radar. |

Because of the term "promotion". U think about it and that could cover lots of ground. |
