This topic came up in another thread and I have always used an Annual Plan with American Express but when discussing this in PM's with another member I did a little looking and found these guys.

https://www.allianztravelinsurance.com/

They are the same company that Orbitz uses for their Insurance and I have used them through Orbitz myself. I have had them pay off on trip changes and you do need verifiable proof of the reasons but they have not been extremely nit picky on it. On the Annual plan you have 2 choices and depending on what you want to pay you are looking at 459.00 or 249.00 per year. They cover more than my American Express policy covers and for a lesser amount. I will not be renewing my Amex policy in October since I found this and am going with the 459.00 as I like to rent a car when I am out of the country and this will cover the car as well.

Thanks. I've been looking for an alternative to AMEX for car rental and travel medical insurance. Since I no longer have any insurance in the US, I no longer have liability coverage. (My old USAA policy did) So, I pay from $12 - $20 US per day Supplemental Liability Insurance as the AMEX premium auto rental only covers CDW/LDW, personal injury and personal effects. I took a quick look at the Allianz site, and it looks like Allianz does not either.
