With the rains of late on the Atlantic side, every single road from the Central Valley to the Atlantic coast is closed. If you had any plans to go over that way in the next week or so, look for something else to do. http://www.nacion.com/sucesos/desastres ... 50424.html

Isn't this still supposed to be the "dry" season (albeit tail end)?

No, dry season is Nov to April. The rest is wet.
