I'd like to re-open the discussion about "No Cien." Maybe it was my mistaken assuption that NO CIEN was in regard to toda la noche... but my recent experience suggests that... if you want to spend the whole night with a 9 or a 10 (from the Del Rey, anyway)... you're going to pay in the ball park of $150. And at least $100 for a 9 or a 10 from some of the less known places. So... can someone please clarify for me, exactly what the NO CIEN pertains to? Thank you, - Rolex. |

Paco is right. When we say never pay cien, it is for one hour. If you find a hottie you just have to have...and she is stuck on cien....try to get her for two hours...or TLN for cien. If you pay cien for one hour, you will be horse whipped and drug down Avenida Central behind a wagon driven by DonGordo. |

The only Tica I paid cien was a beautiful I would rate a 9....stayed from 10:30 PM until 8 AM next morning on the morning of my departure. Was 3rd time I was with her after paying 25,000 colones 1st two times for an hour to an hour and a half each. Wanted to make sure she remembered me, gave her my little spanish cheat sheet to practice up her spanish for my next trip....... Chicagoguy |

Well Now....I thought that I should throw in my 2 colones worth. To me..." No Cien" should have a broader definition. In general...we should all just balk at paying too much. I have a GF of sorts down here. She is a single mother of 2 and won't be caught anywhere near the DR. She works 6 days a week from 9 am til 7pm in a hair salon on Avenida Central. She took 2 days off last week to go to the beach with me....so she only worked 10 days or 60 hours. Her pay for that time came to 22 mil. Yes she gets some tips...but usually only from gringos. To me that puts everything into perspective. Cien for one hora is a lot of money. Cien for todo la noche is a lot of money. Have I paid it? Yup...in the past...but no more. All you need to do is spend a little more time shopping. It's fun...and you can still have a beauty at a fair price and send her home happy. |
