Oh. I only met Paco once in passing in the doorway of Idem about 10 years ago. But have had many online interactions with him. Very nice guy, and never had mean-spirited word to say about anything.

His last post about 2 weeks ago was typical of him, busting balls.

Where is this place Medellin, somewhere in Costa Rica? Can you get there by taxi from the Del Rey (which I have never been out of).......
Funny, now will someone please piss off Hank so he quits CRT forever again?

Rest in peace amigo. You will truly be missed around here.

Yup, I was the recipient of his last post- I feel pretty bad for having responded to it harshly, thank god for the edit function. I hung out with him and Latino Heat on a trip or two many years ago. It was a magical time when I was new to mongering and San Jose still felt like a magical place. Whether it changed or I changed, I will never know. But as I hear about the passing of guys who I met ten years ago, I am reminded how fragile life is, and how precious.

RIP Paco..my you monger and cut up wherever you soul may rest..

I discovered Costa Rica around the same time as Paco did. Back then every trip was an exciting new experience which we loved to share on a new board called CRT. It is truly a shame to see a guy with so much life ahead of him taken so early.

RIP Paco

Met Paco on my first trip almost 8 years ago and a better guy you'd be hard pressed to name on CRT. He will be missed. RIP my friend...

Sad news indeed. A true CRT legend. I always enjoyed his posts, including the trip reports and photos. He will be missed :(
RIP Paco

One of the things that attracted me to this board initially was the good natured sparring between the members, including as mentioned earlier, PacoLoco and LatinoHeat. Wicked funny!! I wanted to be part of the club and Paco was very open with his friendship and his wit. He always struck me as a gentle, humble fella, easy to laugh and very bright. Many of us had the privilege of spending time with him and for a group of us who travelled to Medellin in July of 2009, his companionship and that sparkle in his eye enhanced the trip greatly. RIP Amigo.

I always had good times hanging out with Pacoloco in the Del Rey. I met him there about 10 years ago. On my first trip to Sosua back in 2010 Paco showed me and my wingman the ropes. Paco you will truly be missed. RIP.

This is truly sad news... Seeing so many of the oldschoolers contribute to this thread speaks to his longtime presence, impact, admiration, and respect that he's earned since CRT's infancy. Pacoloco was one of the ORIGINAL Goodfellaz, one of the original Sexy Bitches... and of course, Pacoloco was one of a kind. My first memories of CR involve him, LatinoHeat, Hand-Solo, VegasBob, JaggedEdge, and several others always willing to help a brother have a good time, always willing to show the ropes, and always ALWAYS willing to break some balls... And I fondly remember the great times I had on my early trips in no small part due to him and his buddies. I'm sure I speak for so so so many when I say that we will be forever grateful for his kindness, his humor and great energy, and his contribution to our pastime.

You will truly be missed, Scott... we'll see you on the other side, amigo.

This one ends, must start a new
New life, new friends, new girls to screw
Many will cherish your way and face
But alas, you're in a better place
All here are sad to see you go
Keep an eye on us down here below
While in that cantina in the sky
Enjoying Heavenly brew and babes, oh my!
New rules with new start while at that end
But this one won't change, don't forget, "NO CIEN!"
So whatever bar in the sky you may be
Try to save atleast a few chicas for me...

Goodbye, CRT brother. Be thou at peace.

Just now saw this! RIP Paco! You, your great personality, and your incomparable wit will be sincerely missed! Truly one of the original "goodfellows"!! It is times like this that makes me stop and think about all the great guys I have had the honor of meeting and getting to know, and how quickly time and life moves on. Paco, you will be missed!!!!

I am saddened by the shocking news of Scott's death-I had no idea he was ill. I have many fond memories of hanging with him in sjo. We had coffee & breakfast together many times on the rail @ the Prez beginning in '05 or so. We would rehash the previous night adventures & dream of what the new day had in store. I also shared a table with him many times @ the DR happy hours, hoisting a few & hunting for a date. He had a quick sarcastic wit, always was willing to help newbies out & loved the chicas-esp. the Dominicanas as I recall. Whenever our trip dates coincided, he was always 1 of the guys I would go out of my way to meet up with to catch up & share a laugh & a drink or 2. He's on his way to mongering heaven I'm sure.

Life is short so make sure you stop and smell the coffee when you are in Costa Rica...... Life is not about possessions but enjoying the time you are here.

RIP Pacoloco

I say we give him the final post in the LAST POST WINS Thread and lock that thing down.

Seriously his comments and wisdom will be missed.
