I know many of you have had dental work in San Jose, but I wonder if anyone has had surgery preformed?

I'm due for a partial (full if I wait much longer) knee replacement and my insurance covers the cost and recovery center in full through their global network. I have a high deductible and this is an alternative that would save me several thousand dollars.

Also, does anyone know about plastic surgery in San Jose. A working girl I know in the states wants a boob job. Comparing prices alone, there's no contest on where to have it done. The chicas I've meet in San Jose with enlargements look really good.

Any 411 would be greatly appreciated.

I would tell your friend to go to Medellin. I do not know about the cost, but with the huge (pun intended) number of ladies with plastic, they should have it down pat.

Health & happiness....

You can not put a price on your health. If I had to have any major surgery or chemo I would have it done in the states. The hospitals in central and south America do not compare to a basic hospital in USA. Only my opionion.

I agree with Santas Bro about the boob job. It is cheaper in Medellin, and from what I have seen, they do it better. I talked to a lady in San Jose who had the work done, and her breasts were bruised pretty bad. She said for two weeks after the surgery, the pain was so bad that she would cry most of the night. In contrast, two ladies in Medellin said they had very little pain and very little bruising.

Personally, I prefer "Natural". There is something just way too "plastic" about fake boobs, however, to each his own...or her own.

Except for no obesity, IMHO it's ALL about the attitude...... not the size or shape.

How are their various body parts connected to their brain? That's what I need to know.

As usual, Mkink's advice is "rock-solid."

But with the health-care system being so screwed up in the States, there is often NO WAY that procedures can be affordable for a lot of people.

My Doc just got $107.56 from my insurance company for a 10 minute routine office visit with me, an "established patient." There is NO WAY that a payment like that can be justified by ANY doctor or insurance company.

That doesn't happen anywhere else in the world. Why do we in the States tolerate it?

I got an ACA Marketplace plan with a $6300 deductible and a $375 monthly premium, basically a catastrophic plan.

A routine office call at Biblica Hospital or Cima Hospital in San Jose will run about $100, ten minutes or 40 minutes.

I have a friend that had double hip replacement surgery here, at Hospital Católico. No issues all went well.

Does anybody know what a routine office visit for an uncomplicated issue would typically cost in a private practice, outside of a hospital setting :?:
