I will be making my first trip to CR in a couple weeks, and I was wanting to buy a Ticos soccer jersey for my niece for Christmas. Does anyone know where women's jerseys could be purchased in San Jose ? Thanks.

The soccer jerseys are very popular in Costa Rica, especially on game days. They are sold in many stores in the gulch on and near Avenida Central (the pedestrian mall) ..... they're not hard to find...... in sizes from Ch*ldren's size to fat-boy size.

Some are legit. - some are knock-offs. Just like NFL stuff in the States. Prices can range from $15 to $80 for a jerseys that look identical.

On Avenida Central near Calle 13, in the shadows of Plaza Democtatica and the new Jade Museum, there is a large group of stalls where native arts and crafts are sold. The jerseys for certain popular teams are sold there for about $15.

Good advice there,about soccer shirts..I flew in on monday and there were in the airport (tica ladies soccer team)as i came thru immigration,they were getting applause from a crowd of people outside,did they win something...

A couple of weeks ago, I bought some Saprissa jerseys for some cute girls in the States. Saprissa colors are maroon and white. For the girls' jerseys, the white is replaced with pink.....a nice touch.

All soccer jerseys have several logos plastered on them for the sponsors of the teams. The dominate logo plastered in LARGE letters across the front of the SAPRISSA jerseys is for a major sponsor of the team. It is a huge bakery company that operates throughout many latin countries..... and even in the States. The baking company is Grupo Bimbo. Their major product is a brand of bread named Bimbo.

They came in second in the 2014 CONCACAF Women’s Championship - lost to the USA. Getting to the championship game automatically qualifies them to be in the 2015 FIFA Women’s World Cup in Canada. It will be Costa Rica's first time in the Women's World Cup, so they earned a greeting party at the airport.
