My dear friend, DonPapi, who was associated with the original site and this one has taken on a new stardom in San Jose. He has lived in SJ for a number of years after traveling from Ohio to reside here. He is a former Ohio professor of language at Ohio State University. He converses in a number of languages and has helped many new arrivals with his experience of Latin culture. If you are fortunate, you might find him at the Sportsman Lodge one evening enjoying a bottle of wine and entertaining various travelers to SJ.

DonPapi was approached by a commercial company to play Santa Clause in a commercial. Somewhat reluctant, he said yes. Heck, he had not acted in anything since high school.

He went to the cattle call as we say it in the acting business and was awarded the job.

They shot him in the commercial after a a number of takes. BINGO..they got a jewel.

GET THIS. He now has an agent (good looking chica) and they have more plans in the fall for more commercials.

yEA...AND THEY PAID HIM SOME GOOD BUCKS.

I'm pissed....he won't even give me an autograph

Oh... great. :roll: :roll: :roll: Now we're gonna have the paparazzi crawling all over San Jose, trying to snipe a photo of him so they can sell it to the rag mag's. :evil: :mrgreen: :P

a couple years ago he was compared to Hemmingway, now he's Santa Claus & doing commercials :roll: I hope stardom doesn't change him & he'll still occasionally let me join him @ the SL with my bottle of Flor de Cana in hand.

Santa!!!! Holy crap, Don Papi knows who's been Bad or good? Yikes, I'll be good from now on Mr. Santa, I promise. I'll even bring Five Guy burgers and fries next time I visit. Congrats brother. Don Papi and Circus go way back, even before Circus was in the hospitality business renting cardboard boxes in the parque. Don Papi, maybe this will be the start of another fruitful career. I recently looked at the circus cardboard video produced by Don Papi and Staring you! Can you bump it to the top of the thread so other CRT'ers who may have not been around back then can see it. I laugh every time I look at it. I have stayed at the cardboard inn before, without the cardboard!!!!

Thanks Senor-Jefe for the compliment but I don't want to "bump" the video. It is what it is and I hope that newbies get a chance to view it.

The man of numerous languages, Don Papi, is indeed a talented man. I was glad he got the gig and hope that he has more success with it. I've had the pleasure of knowing him since the old Costa Rica Sex site, circa 2001, and I can't think of a better ambassador to CR. He knows a lot of travelers and chicas that live or visit this land we old timers called "OZ." He has given a mass amount of time to introduce new and past travelers to CR's diverse cultures. He also use to photograph all of the chicas of the month for CRT. Nice work if you can get it.

And by the way, shockingly....old Circus was never sober while filming "Cardboard Inns." Surprise, surprise...surprise.
