If you believe his version, and he provided court documents to the e-paper, this sounds like the crap that goes on in the US.

And the part about her in the past having him locked up and then looting him, the nightmare so many ex-pats have reported on this board, man WTF.

But, a little surprised that he being a shrink, couldn't see thru her in advance of getting hooked up. Or she was just that super clever and deceiving that even a shrink couldn't detect what I think Fruedian theory shrinks would diagnose as her having no "super-ego" (a lack of a conscience.)

I'm not surprised, shrinks are some of the sickest people out there. Like most alcohol & drug counselors are alcoholics and drug addicts.

There are some crazy bitches around here. A chica can falsely charge someone with domestic violence, Ch*ld abuse, almost anything. And the courts will believe her every time. Here, you are guilty until proven innocent. It's a shake-down scheme that some girls can play like a violin.

I think if you spend enough time with them however (i.e. more than one night) you can start to tell how they are going to be even if they still puta when you're not around.

If they are in any way bossy, demanding esp. the first time you phuck them (even for money) good chance they gonna be a royal hemorroid. And if at any time after that even 10 yrs. get the phuck away them as fast you can if you can! Proly why I still single.

Problem with actually getting away from someone you eventually learn is a bitch is when you have offspring and then it's too late to completely get away if you are a normal guy with paternal emotions.

A variation of the same problem: if you are going to get a Tica pg, make sure you can make it in CR money wise come hell or high water. I have a very good friend who worked as a boss at a popular bar in Quepos for quite a while. Was doing well $$ for the market he was in. Hooked up with a seemingly solid Tica, that was my impression of her anyway. Knocked her up. Moved in together, but no marriage. Then he learns a few years later she's running around on him with a Tico. Says he did not see it coming. I know the Tico, I wouldn't have seen that coming in a million years either. Wherever we live, we have all asked ourselves "what is that babe doing with that goof", but it seems highly disproportional in CR.

He moves out of the house, but still visitation with his grade school daughter and paying the bills. Then the bar changes hands, is closed, re-opens but he loses his job. Not many good jobs in Quepos for gringos, or CR for that matter, unless you have something special going for you. He didn't.

Broke. Tried to hang living as cheaply as he could with some help from home and working a fill in shift as a bar tender at various places, but got to the point he couldn't do it. Forced to go back to the states. Tore him up. Not good for the little one either.

I've read a few success stories on the board of gringos happy with their CR marriages. I'd be way too worried to try if offspring were in the makings. That makes it a trap like what happened to the shrink in my OP or with the my buddy who couldn't hang. In both situations, you aren't with the little one you want to be with more then anything else in the world.
