Pretty sure Bill at the sportsmen's lodge will have the game on for our Canadian cousins. Who are the rough riders playing. The Eskimos or the blue bombers

Bill: Dish Network in the US is listing it at 6pm Eastern on channel 159 NBCSP. In the US I know you need to purchase a special package to get NBC SP on Dish. I'm sure Canadian stations will be different/more channels? That's all I can add.

Bill, I don't know what system you use but the game will be on NBC Sports Network (Dish Network 159) and (DirecTV 220). My guide shows NBC Sports Network will start the coverage at 6:00 Central but I would check earlier in the day to be safe.

Two teams with the same nickname......funny

Never heard of the Ontario rough riders. Used to be a team called the Ottawa rough riders.
What about the Hamilton ti cats. And the Toronto argonauts.

I think Canadian football is wide open and exciting. Most Canadians now seem to prefer the NFL.
Do they still limit the number of Americans on the roster to 10 or so. They want Canadian content even if it lowers the quality of the league. .

CFL was a start for alot of players that became NFL greats, eg, Warren Moon, Joe Theisman--I didn't say popular re: JT--off the top of my head.

Ok...We will set it for either feed. Only a big rain can stop us now :)

Thanks,

Bill

Game is between Saskatchewan RoughRiders and Hamilton Tigercats. True there used to be an Ontario team with the same name....Ottawa, but that team no longer exists. Game is in Saskatchewan - Regina. Sometimes a bit cool there...and windy. But this week is non-stop party in preparation for the Grey Cup....with the bonus that their own team is in it.

Go Riders....

Excellent Bill......thanks ...will see you on Sunday.

The biggest obvious difference between US and Canadian football is the size of the field--the CFL plays on a 10% bigger field which may not sound like much to modern speedier players but it still counts for alot in open-field play and general fan excitement. Other differences are more subtle (rule changes not copied in the Canadian league, etc). It's not a different game (rugby vs. football, say), just a wider-open style one to the other.
SOUR NOTE: Neither has addressed head injuries--multiple concussive/sub-concussive, etc.--so I haven't much to do with it.
Here's the Wiki on this subject of differences/samenesses: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Comparison ... n_football << As they note, this article needs serious help. Anybody want to step up?

Really? Jethro Tull played in both leagues? Just yankin', Bro Gersen> Here's the more meditative: http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/trainingc ... id=3535396
And let's not forget it works the other way 'round--NFL to CFL: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_pl ... n_football
There's a few players who have truly globalized--US football to Australian rugby, etc. The above article shows all manner of transformations, for the data-driven or trivia-obsessed.

And a great win for the Riders....well deserved I think, and done in convincing style.
