Can't Post the Bloomberg Bizweek article but from a recent issue: There's a way to get Netflix, DirecTV's all-access Sunday Ticket package without the steep fees, etc., etc. anywhere you are. The so-far legal way to do it is to use a virtual private network (VPN) to access servers in another country. This spoof is run by these three companies mentioned in the piece (there may be others).

NOTE: I haven't tried any of these and great caution is advised...but it sure looks good and BB is a trusted source.

I had Netflix when I first arrived in Colombia, but the selection of movies was so meager, I terminated service with them.

The trick is you have to get a US IP to get the normal selection, otherwise you only get whatever country you are in.

That probably was the thrust of Jazzbo's post. VPN may be a little complicated for a luddite like me... and not sure the extra cost and effort is worth it when I can get newly-released movies in the street for 2000 pesos.

I agree. I just wanted to inform anyone interested that we do have a US IP free for our customers. I find it's little things like this that determine where I go when traveling.

I am watching Netflix in Singapore regularly with Streaming VPN (http://www.streamingvpn.com) helping me access this wonderful movie channel for the latest. It was easy to set up on my tablet and does not eat up much bandwidth.

What player does this use? I can't figure out how to stream the Fox News Channel, though it's listed there. I have Flash inactive by default but can activate it. I did see a banner saying to install something called Java HD, but I've never heard of that. It's a confusing, very ad-heavy site.

Stayed at Mona Lisa last week, had some down time one afternoon so I hooked up my tablet to the TV and played a Netflix movie and it worked fine. I was a little surprised as I had heard rumors about only US ip's but at least for me it worked fine. Not sure of the techy specifics all I know is I tried it and it worked normal.

What player does this use?

it should launch straight from your browser. i’m a mac person and it streams through either safari or [should i choose] firefox. now keep in mind you’re watching live video so much of it depends upon your bandwidth [signal strength]. are you windows/ internet explorer? here a link to some specification/ operating system [OS] requirements which could resolve the problem:

<< Fox News--all ways in everything.
If Livestream is for you, you are doubtless equipped for it: minimum standards are easily met by 90+ % of the computers in the 21st century including some cell phones. You're good to go on a pretty spiffy site.

It looks like this is the actual link for Fox News: http://www.baqiworld.com/2011/10/watch-fox-news-live/

It's one of several popups I got when I clicked the Fox News icon on the site listed above.

It just uses Flash.
