I have now heard from 2 people that a few of you (I haven't been offered money) are getting paid to post on here.

WTF is up with that?

Can somebody list the handles so that I can go read the money posts. Maybe I'll learn something. :lol:

I believe my name was bandied about in this regard. I have not, do not and will not get paid to post. My info, replies and comments are strictly my own. My compensation is only psychic--hoping that others find value in what I write (forlorn hope sometimes but there you go). Fringe bennie--if I post a clickable, it helps me find it later. Being paid to post is corruptive, at least in spirit, but it's not on me to be judgmental about it either. If you do it, you do it.
I appreciate this being brought up by the OP, Orange, (a top-notch original if there ever was one) so as to combat rumors.
Lastly, not that there's a lot of shy folks here, but if somebody wants something discussed but not by them, PM me and I'll evaluate and do so (no banned topics of course). I'm sure other Brothers and Sisters feel the same.

but i would not hold anything against a poster if they found a way to get paid.
thats their business.
still if it actually is happening Orange should be getting paid first. :lol:

I haven't suspected, except for below, a quid pro quo thing going on, which is essentially a certain poster that is spamming or boasting for places/services out of the ordinary and for a self serving reason. I think it would be kind of obvious after a very detectable pattern to regular readers.

Jazz' posts would be the furthest in my mind. Don't know why he got the impression that he would be a culprit. He generally is responding to posts with links adding good info to the thread.

But spammy rave posts from too many different posters about tipico services rendered, especially about taxi rides to-fro the airport, yep, I believe that has gone on in the past year or so, a certain member in that biz excluded.

To me, too odd that there are so many posters, especially new guys, getting to CR and/or then after they get home and then posting a rave review about, of all the things cool in CR, a driver who shows up at the arrival level as planned with your name on a sign so you find him and/or on him being on time at the hotel for the departure taxi ride for the tipico CR taxi price of $30-35.

It wouldn't surprise me if some posters are getting paid. I find it a bit odd some posters who would never post here again are suddenly back.

Honestly, this site has been phucked since the new owner took over. CRT would be much better served if the new owner gave up the site because his heart really isn't into it and has turned the site to shit. Please new owner give the site to someone with the passion to run it right!

I don't think he was referring to this site, but to the schills that get paid to say x location is good when they have not been there. It is a real dis-deservice to this site because we didn't come here to read a fake review.

As the forum moderator, I can tell safely say there are people out there who get paid to promote things on CRT. However, in most of the cases the individuals are professional spammers from Asia who get paid to promote links to websites in general.

A recent example, was a user with an IP address in the Philippines who created eight posts in one day, one of which included a link to a website that promoted sex travel in Asia. Clearly it was not an automated spam bot, because each post had some on-topic content. Also, I did a Google Search on his email address and found him looking for online work in a forum in the Philippines.

I would like to thank all the users that are so diligent in clicking the Report this Post icon on posts they think are spam. It really helps to curb the constant spam we get on CRT.

I'm not talking about spammers. We all know their deal. I'm talking about the owners/moderators/admins of CRT paying members to post; members who used to post and then stopped, and are now quite active posters again, for example.

Brilliant!!! However, your site is making way too much money and membership fees needs to be reviewed and reduced because you both are being paid way too much if you are paying old posters to post again…..

Since I use to post a lot and because of all the bull shit that was going on on the board, because of personal reasons, and because of legal issues in Costa Rica at the time, I quit posting. At that time there were several posters with virtually no real knowledge of mongering, of Costa Rica, and of the sex scene in Costa Rica who were telling everyone how to do CR and telling us "old farts" how dumb we were. Most of those characters are gone. A couple are still here but HAD seemed to have calmed down a little. Hmmm, maybe I was wrong about that!!!!!!!!!

For the past few months there has been a total lack of up to date info about a lot of things here. I had recently been thinking about posting again and several members had been hounding me to post info. Recently I was sending a PM to someone that had asked a question and for some reason the PM was posted as a post rather than a PM. At that point I made the decision to return to posting.

I have lived here for 8 years and came here for 10 years before that. I took my first mongering trip more than 50 years ago and have been a swinger and naturalist for all of my adult life. I do have a little knowledge of what it is to be a monger; and I do have a little knowledge of the mongering scene in San Jose. I do not know it all (no one does) :roll: . I am not always right!! :oops: (no one is). I am a person that all my life has tried to share and help people with like interest. I did walking tours for a few years here and for the whole time I was constantly accused of doing it for personal gain and for money. Anyone who really knows me can tell you I never ask for a penny (It is against the law in this country to profit directly or indirectly from prostitution) Money that was given to me was donated to one of the orphanages here. I was accused by other expats living here of "ruining the MPs and the chicas" by taking gringos who would over pay and over tip to the MPs. I was threatened with physical harm; with being reported to the police for pimping (never). I was accused of all kinds of crazy untrue things. I was lied about to the chicas-to this day there is one very well known chica here who will not speak to me because she refuses to believe that a certain ass (a CRT member) was lying when he told her I posted bad things about her on here. I only posted about her one time and it was all good!!!

It is well known that the OP of this thread and I do not see eye to eye on issues concerning CR and mongering. I am quite sure this thread was a direct result of my return to posting. I AM NOT BEING PAID BY ANYONE AND HAVE NEVER BEEN PAID BY ANYONE TO POST. If you look at my posts since returning you will see I have posted about several business here not really promoting any one. All I have posted has been in response to questions or comments about places here. As for as anyone connected to CRT (ownership nor management) paying, I had never even met Admin3 till just a couple days ago. I knew who he was but had never met him nor talked to him. As for the owner, I have heard rumors as to who he is; but I do not have verifiable knowledge as to who he is (it is a big dark secret, I guess) so how could he be paying me or anyone else. Personally I find the accusation that anyone is being paid by CRT to post quite humorous and an attempt to return to the "old days" of constant bickering and name calling. If the OP or anyone else has any proof of me or anyone else being paid to post, they should present the proof instead of just making accusations!!!


Danialson: Your stupid accusations do not even deserve comment--typical of the characters on here who run their mouth with no knowledge nor facts. As for Relax, I will comment--yes, I AND MANY OTHER PEOPLE WHO ARE REGULARS THERE, get a small discount. In my case, it is not because of my posting about the place but because I have known and been friends with the owner (opps, I forgot , a Gringo can not truly be friends with a Tico :roll: :? ) for many years-long before he closed his MP in Tibas and opened Relax. Yes I have made many favorable posts about the place, but it was not for any personal gain; it was because I like the place and it has (most of the time) very good chicas who give very good service. My posting about Relax and any other MP was to give info to the membership of CRT about the MPs here and nothing more. There are many people that just cannot accept the fact that someone would do things to help others just to try to be helpful and not for personal gain. In my experience most of those who accuse others are people who would NEVER do shit to help anyone else with out there being "something in it for them"!! Funny thing is, as far as I know I do not even know this member but he seems to THINK he has a lot of knowledge about me and my personal life--guite funny!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have said all I will say on this subject. You can believe what you want to about this issue (you will anyway). I am comfortable in my honesty about the subject, and I know I have NEVER done anything dealing with CRT and the mongers who come here for personal gain. If you do not want me to post, just say so and I will gladly go back to not posting. I have plenty to do with my time here other than posting on CRT.
