I'm sad to have to report this, but Gary was found deceased a few days ago in his local apartment. Gary was well known to many CRT guys in several ways. He used to rent some rooms in his house in Rhomerser. He also was a tennis pro and taught classes locally. Gary was a good looking actor who was in good shape. He performed from time to time at the Little theater.I saw him in a lead role in Glengary Glenross and he was really good. Gary was one of the first people I met in CR nearly 10 years ago,and I will miss him.

Vegas Bob, sorry to hear you lost a good friend. I also met Gary on a few occasions and went to see him at the Glengary Glenross play. He was indeed excellent. RIP Gary.

I was a friend of Garys from New York City. I was very disturbed to hear of his death. Does anyone have any details of his untimely death?

Thank you.

Rick

Rick......I just sent you a PM thru this site. However I just noticed that you aren't a paid member so I believe you can't receive PMs. I guess you will have to either join for a year ( $39.95) or think of a way for me to send you the info. I don't feel comfortable explaining it publicly.

I also sent a PM, yesterday. If you are not interested in this site and only want info on Gary, then you can open a temporary email account, post it here, and I will forward the info there.

I don't know if he can receive PM's but if you click on the PM button under his name it opens up so you could send one.

The other option short of joining CRT is he can PM YOU VB with his personal e mail and you can forward one to him there.

This is unconfirmed as the reason, but Gary had told me he was expecting a large fee for finding financing on a large deal here in the country. He was really all excited about it. He was making plans to build a nice home on the west side of San Jose. A few months later I ran into his room mate in Escazu and he said Gary left CR and was very depressed and devastated because the deal never materialized. That was the last I heard about Gary until reading this thread. The sad fact is that he is gone. He was a good guy and now I feel bad that I used to tease him as being a bad actor. His acting was fine. Like so many of us, he appreciated the young skirts. That was the "bad actor" in him. Makes me a bad actor too!

Very Kind words about a likable guy that is no longer with us. I'm sure his friends and family will appreciate your consideration.

Just came across this after a friend in CR mentioned to me what happened. I'm very sad to hear this news. Gary was a good friend of mine, though we only met about 2 years before his death. Gary was a very, very nice guy - I don't think he had a mean bone in his body. He was personable and had a wonderful Dale Carnegie style habit of always seeing the best in people and letting them know what he liked about them. I think it's really tragic what happened to Gary - he had a fun life before he got entranced about that real estate project. He was always happy and always talking about his newest girlfriend, his play, tennis, houses and all the other things he had going on. He definitely wasn't bored or depressed. I felt terrible when I found out things had gone downhill for Gary after that project didn't work out, and I feel really terrible today to find out he wasn't able to turn it around.

A salute to Gary Zelman, he was really one of the good guys and is missed by many! People were always asking me about him at Time Out Tavern and other places since they knew he and I were friends. Those of us who knew him spoke about him regularly and always in a good light. I know many of us aren't religious types and I'm certainly not either, but today I hope there's a better place out there and that Gary's there

Hangman..I care about what he said; your comment, as with the vast majority of what you "offer" (cough cough), was useless.

Gary and I used to go see movies on Wednesday (two tickets for the price of one). Being an actor, he liked to comment during the movie. That was fine by me since we were usually the only ones in the theater at 1pm during the day. I knew Gary for 5+ years. He did no harm to anyone.

Hangman should be barred from posting on this board.

Maybe you could have a little respect for the deceased and carry your feud to somewhere else.
