Interesting short article re: govt financed DNA testing and procedures for Ticas to determine paternity for Ch*ld support. About 500 requests a month from moms. About 20-25% percent come back "it's not him" and they re-do those to double check. Wow is all I can say without getting insulting! And that makes me wonder about Ticos or gringos living there that have just acccepted her word alone that you're the papa. How many times you reckon that's happened?
From what I read and hear from gringos, it mostly depends on the relationship with the chica. If the guy is in a relationship with one that gets pregnant, and he wants to STAY in that relationship, he'll probably take her word. But most gringos I know who are accused by somebody they aren't involved with would never just accept her word, because it would mean C***d $upport. I know one guy who left the country rather than find out. Ticos? I can't speak for the upper classes, but among the poorer classes, fatherhood and Tico only go together in the biological sense most of the time.
