AN UPDATE PLEASE........... What about The Admin's and DonCarlos' sassurance that we would have the New VIP Gallery restored to us, unchanged including the search function for that valuable feature of CRT???? Last May 10, DonCarlos posted : Post subject: Re: SEARCHING THE VIP GALLERY Posted: Fri May 10, 2013 4:12 pm I would like to inform everyone who has taken an interest in the very important CRT photo gallery that we are working toward a process to introduce a new gallery application. We are hoping to import the content from the previous gallery. Last May 20, The Admin posted : Post subject: Re: VIP Photo Gallery? Posted: Mon May 20, 2013 2:01 pm The VIP Photo gallery IS coming back. It's just going to take a little time. We are spending a considerable amount of money to bring back the "Old VIP Gallery" and every single picture it contained, including every piece of data associated with each individual photo, every comment, every number and the ability to search the gallery by this information - our IT guys at our new server are working on it right now. I will give you an exact date of return when they give me one...stay tuned... ______________________________________________________________________________________________________ I have some information from a reliable source that all of the pictures and associated information from the "New VIP Gallery" is still intact on the server. It just has to be brought back for our use. We have heard virtually NOTHING from The Admin and DonCarlos for 5 months about the status of what was promised to us. I hope that we can soon get an update from them about the progress of the project to restore the "New VIP Gallery" and its search function. |

I'm not renewing as a VIP member until the pictures return. |

I would say the same thing about renewing, but I paid for a lifetime membership..........mainly to have the extra ability to see the "New VIP Gallery." For new guys who may not understand, we can see most postings and also post comments ourselves without an annual or lifetime VIP membership. But the Galleries, and their valuable, historical references required a VIP membership. In the past, I was able to generate many paid memberships to CRT by showing the "New VIP Gallery" to others who saw a lot of value in being able to put a face (and body) and reputation with a name or a venue to assist in their "hunt." I'm sorry to say that I can't can't generate any new paid memberships now, even with the other features of the "new" CRT. |

IMHO, it is unfortunate that the sun will not shine as brightly for us paid members as it did in The Era of Tomas, in spite of the any minor, questionable "improvements" made in the new era. |

I've been a lifetime member for several years, and I can't even access the VIP Photo Gallery! For some reason, it's not recognizing my username or password anymore. Oh well... ![]() |

MG....... This may be helpful to you........ When I go to the current VIP photo gallery, I get a drop-down screen immediately that asks me to enter a cryptic user name that the screen shows along with a password that is also on that drop-down screen. When I do that, I can see the current gallery. In effect, we have to sign-in twice to get to the current photo gallery. Admin explained why this was necessary.......... to protect against malware. I can accept a double sign-in as an improvement. I cannot accept the void of NOT having the old "New VIP Gallery" with its search function as an "improvement" for us, and I cannot accept the deafening silence on this issue from the CRT powers-to-be. Unfortunately, the current gallery has a LOT OF very old pictures, it has no narrative to go along with the pictures, and it is NOT a searchable gallery. It is pretty useless IMHO. |

Does anybody believe this was not a money move on the new owners' part? Think about it... a good host costs $$$ and all that space needed to store so many pics costs $$$... so what did they do? They switched to a cheap host (slow, inconsistent, error messages, etc etc) and they got rid of all (most) the pictures under the illusion that it was some kind of security threat. This is the same way our government scares us into accepting new "security" scanners/lines at airports... by trying to scare us into believing that there is some constant threat. And again, I agree with Rac and Mucho Gusto that the owners/admins not saying a word is most telling. |

Maybe if the new admins spent more time on site maitnence like speeding up the page and returning the VIP pictures instead of always coming to the defense of a CRT sponsor this site would be as good as it once was |

The word on the street is that the headcount of paid VIP members would be higher if CRT was more responsive to its users than it is now. With greater responsiveness, the value of the advertising on CRT would be greater because of a higher, more active membership. Money talks.....and so does logic. Unfortunately, some talk falls on deaf ears. |

Sponsors come in droves if you have more members using them and they also leave in droves if Admin3 chases CRT members away from the site. It is a simple business 101. I don't think Admin3 GETS it. I guess, for now, Admin3 is heavily focussed on sponsors ( esp. defending sponsors for poor service than supporting members, promoting a whore monger site on social media) I love CRT but i can sense its eventual death if Admin (not Admin3) doesn't step in soon. |

"quote: esp. defending sponsors for poor service" How did that happen as quick as it did? One Lucky Dog said he missed the pickup because he thought the plane ran out of fuel and got diverted to Liberia--again--and then poof--up pops the warning: don't complain about that sponser. |
